Rotating mp4 video

Hi, Have an m4 video copied from Samsung S3 phone and need to rotate it 90 degrees. Have tried 'Free Video Flip & Rotate' and 'Freemake Video Converter'. Both of these also cropped the image so a substantial part of it (top and bottom) was lost.

Is there something that will do it properly? Would prefer not to buy something as this is just a one-off.
