Hello all,
For the past few days I've experienced odd errors with DivX playback. Sometimes a file downloaded from Kazaa was only displayed as a grey image with audio (with EVERY player software). But mostly, all that happens is that all .avi files play a few fast-paced seconds of video and audio unsynched, and then it stops playback for a while before starting again in a few seconds, STILL out-of-synch.
I deleted all DivX codecs and reinstalled each of the three individually on my Windows XP Professional. For a little while, playback worked. Virtualdub said that a particular avi file is Divx 4.x, and the playbakc worked. Then, suddenly Virtualdub decided to change the information to "DivX Fast-Motion" (obviously 3.11).
Now, all video played back is grey, but the audio is still intact.
What IS this bizarre error? DivX SHOULD have been programmed to have codec discernment! Any advice to how I fix this problem?
Thanks
Magus
