BD-50 to BD-25

Well this is my first post so I hope I say this right. My question is I want to back up my blue-ray movies onto BD 25 disks. I just want a movie only backup. Should I leave BD Rebuilders settings where there at or what changes should I make. Any help or point in the right direction would be appreciated . I'm not sure if this matters but I'll be playing these back on my Samsung BD-P3600. Thank you for your time.

you can leave the default RB settings BUT if i were you i'd use the "High Speed Option BD 25" because it is way faster and for BD25 backups the quality is almost indistinguishable from the original

if you ever decide to go for DVD-9 target size and playback on a Samsung, make sure to use "strict AVCHD for movie only" in the setup preferences

Samsung player (like some others as well) dont like certain folders/structures in AVCHD output like e.g. "AUXDATA" and this folder wont show up when "Strict AVCHD settings" are checked

When you say "High Speed Option" is that the setting for the encoder to the fastest mode. Also with the samsung it seems I only have to deal with the file structure problem when using DVD-5 or DVD-9, BD-25 and BD-50 I leave the files as is, right?

High Speed Option will only show up in RBs options when you go for BD25 as your target size and this option really makes a hell of a difference - try for yourself

i have done a couple of tests with this option and couldnt believe the quality was so incredibly good

BD and AVCHD structure differ and player may react accordingly

if you go for BD25 the "strict avchd" setting will (iirc) automatically be ignored so it's safe to check this option and leave it active because it will only come into play when you select your target size

and it is not a "structure problem" but rather the definition of avchd material burned to DVD
if you burn auxdata folder to a bd-r/e samsung player do NOT have "problems" and they play the avchd content fine but when you use dvd/dvd-dl media and the red laser detects an AUXDATA folder it quits

but it really shouldnt worry you because for exactly these reasons jerry has adopted his fine software to the point that latest rb versions build a "strict" avchd structure whereas early builds created auxdata folder (same goes for certificate, bdjo, jar, & meta) which one better deleted for playback of DVD/DVD9 on Samsung player

then there was another thing to keep in mind but it should NOT matter in your case:
if you ever go for dvd/dvd9 target and playback on a Samsung 1600 make sure NOT to use -ROM as your booktype - leave it at +R or -R!
