adding a harddrive/cd/dvd isnt for rocket-scientists only so dont worry

      - you will need a free connector on an existing ide cable or add a second cable
      - and you will have to use the so called jumpers to set the new device (no matter if its harddrive, cd or dvd drive) to either master/slave/cs (cable select) in order for the system to address this device properly

      no big deal normally

and maybe you should really name the cpu-cooler to give us a clue what you're dealing with

The temp readings are from pretty much idle ...... only process running at the time was aol

The fan i got is the Vantec Socket A CPU Copper High Volume CFM

If your auxiliary temp is your motherboard reading and it's a few degrees cooler, and running hot also, there's no mystery or debate. Your case is too hot, get some cool air in there. Take the side off, point a small fan into it, watch the cpu temp drop.

              hmm, that's not good imho

these temps at almost idle are quite high and ~7800rpm must make a hell of a noise

              who installed the cpu cooler?
are you sure there is appropriate thermal paste between die and heatsink?

is this the vantec you have got?

This is the fan I have the image you provided didn't show on my computer so it might be the same one.

I installed the Heat sink myself and I'm pretty sure I applied enough thermo greese. It was a thin coat. The die was covered but not to much to when it would over flow the sides when snapped down.

And yes the fan is a bit loud but not to bad.

I'm getting 2 different readings on my case temps now. I got my temp display to work on my tower again and im getting a temp reading on there saying that my case temp is 29 degrees C and Everest is saying my aux temp is 69 degress C so if my aux temp is suppose to be a case reading which one is right?

are you talking about external enclosure case?

you can check temperatures in your bios

                          Temperatures:
                          Motherboard 26 °C (79 °F)
                          CPU 47 °C (117 °F)
                          Seagate ST3120827AS 19 °C (66 °F)

give us a straight copy/paste from the everest sensor report, auxiliary may be misreported as diode temp

bottom line, get some cooler air to the case

one more thing before I beat this to the ground. I really appreciate you guys being patient with me on this. The 2 fans I have in my case right now is one on top of the case and one on the side of the case. Right now the one on top is blowing out and the one on the side is blowing in. The one on the side though is almost directly above the processor fan. Would flipping these fans help some making the top blow in and the side blow out? I'm wondering if maybe with the side blowing in its blowing hot air right back on the processor.

Here is the copy/paste temps from everest:

                            Field Value
                            Temperatures
                            Field Value
                            CPU 63 °C (145 °F)
                            Field Value
                            Aux 65 °C (149 °F)

                              .

try blowing a fan into the area where the computer is

                                NO

cold air should be blown in with the lowest fan and the topmost should blow out as hot air rises up

i still cannot believe the high temperatures you state for your system but it seems impossibile to get a step further without any ideas of how familiar you are with this
