I "change icon" not picture (cos I never view folders in thumbnail view).

The way I change these icons is to browse to the exe containing the program and select the official icon for the prog.

That would be a good way to do it also.
I guess placing a pic on top of the folder would be good for maybe movies that you keep on your hard drives.

                        A Better Start Menu !!!

Locate your Start Menu/Task Bar to the side of your monitor to gain better organization. Able to view the full names of Apps when Multi-Tasking. Also look at how many apps can be put in the Quick Launch area and still view them all. IMHO this dramatically clears up the Desktop area (see thumbnail).

Also create folders in C:\Documents and Settings\{your login account}\Start Menu to better organize the things you access the most.

                        ..................

                          Tip For Unistalling Programs

Here's a tip I figured out after much trial and error. I was trying to unistall MusicMatch Jukeobox and could not get it to unistall through add/remove programs as well as going to Windows Explorer and trying to delete it.

After many attempts I tried reinstalling the program and then uninstalling and presto, that did it.

BenBryant also informed me that every time you do an improper deletion or uninstall you can just install the program again and uninstall it correctly. You should also make sure no part of that program runs on startup when uninstalling it.

Hopefully this will be helpful to someone and they won't spend alot of time like I did trying to unistall it unsuccessfully!

folders you just can not delete

I was given this link from another member in this forum today.
If you can not delete a folder no matter what you do check this little program out its free and worked like a charm.

It is also always a good idea to search and purge any remaining traces of the programs that you are uninstalling. This is almost a ritual for me, because you'd be surprised how many programs leave little 'leaches' left attached to your system after you uninstall them, even when you use their own uninstaller.

I guess as in your case Smky, maybe to search for any instances of MusicMatch Jukebox just to be sure?

years of testing crap software have led me to a failsafe solution, find the versions that work, format C, do a clean generic install of windows xp,
add only those programs you've tested and leave it alone.

never buy a factory built loaded computer
