Working with Abit KV7-V mainboard
Installed Seagate SATA HD 250 GB. When I get to xp setup;
"press f6 to install SCSI/Raid driver" - when I press f6, it does not respond but continues with the set up.
then I get "to specify additional SCSI adaptors-press S" I do that and it says to "insert manufacture hardware support disc in drive A & press enter"
...I do that & get "the file txtsetup.oem is not found on the disc" ---but the file is there, I can see it when I explore the disc.
------------------------------------------------------------
long story shortened...
Went to Seagates' site & downloaded "discwizard for windows", which is supposed to be the easy/correct way to set the drive up.
Now, when I run discwizard, I can select the size of the partition that I want to create for "C", press next; it then tells me that it is formatting the drive.
There is a progress box present, which never "progresses", & I get an hourglass on the screen... I left the pc sit for a good hour & still no progress.
Please help me before I throw the pc down the cellar steps!!!
