ED KLIEN, that link for Epson printer cartidges is grreat!! I just picked up a cheap CX3810 for $59.00 at Tigerdirect to replace my Lexmark X83. I thought the cartidges were cheap enough but that website offers a real bargain on continous refill. Thanks a lot.
Can I print on standard DVDRs/CDRs?

If you're going to apply a primer to plain disks, you need to cover the hub area first for 2 reasons: 1) so that the coating doesn't interfere with the hub on the drive, & 2) so you don't have to print down to the ACTUAL center hole - you'll have a helluva time finding artwork that goes all the way in, or you'll have to expand existing artwork inward to fill (VERY time-consuming), or you'll have to create all your own artwork.
You can apply Patricia Nimock's spray to printable disks within 30 sec of printing (the time it takes me to carry one from the office to the garage), so try spraying your "wet" test disk immediately. You might not need to prime them, or wait.Comment

It is a novel idea, if you have the time & ambition to do it.
thanks for all the great info/ideas.

Wouldnt it just be easier to use a printable disc? They have them on sale all the time at supermedia store and Sam's has them pretty cheap.Comment

Thought I'd post some CDRs' that I printed with the R220; Let dry overnight & then applied clearcoat. Not real fancy artwork, but good for compilation discs. I am happy with the results!
Will be purchasing printable DVDRs' in the near future...

Those look great Katz - I have an Epson 340R. Now I know what I need without the hassle of trial and error - Thanks!Comment

Thanks, Kabuchan!
I wanted to mention that I used the Epson Print CD Software that came with the printer, it is a breeze to use. I might experiment with the silver printable discs in the future; seems like it would look more "professional"

the silver printables look good for some, but not all....just play around with it and see what looks good to you. BTW, are those on regular ole discs?

I am using printable white TY's. The discs printed great; in the pictures it is a bit hard to tell, the quality might look a little off, but they turned out just fine.

I have the same software that came with the printer, I think I will give it a shot. I've always used sharpies but since my 10 yr old taught me how to text message today, I'm feeling brave! LOLComment
