The author made some changes in the latest MyDefrag. In the previous version it put scripts in the start menu.. Fast Optimize etc.. in the latest he has a gui where you can click. Guess he's trying to make the names self-explanatory. I don't particularly care for that set up. I just drag the Optimize Daily script onto Selector to set it up as a launch short name. Once set up I just pass the drive letter via Text command line option as in C: or D: highlight the script name in Selector and hit the Go button.
You probably get better performance with MyDefrag if you run programs that create a lot of small files since it can create the files in the gaps between "zones" .. I think Auslogics is a lot simpler where it pretty much just globs the files together.. so to write a new tiny file your disk might have to seek past the glob where everything is at the front of the disk. But usually stuff like Auslogics tends to glob onto big globs that already exists to do the least work, so if you optimize with MyDefrag you may be able to run 3 or 4 quickie defrags with Auslogics before you feel any gain from doing MyDefrag again. It gives options anyway. It's interesting to see people discuss zone strategies for particular PC usage on the MyDefrag forums.
edit: big run-on paragraph with too many 'so's .. so I'm sorry about that. Hope I conveyed the idea.
