    defintely
change it to manual and leave at 1.4 ?
then set fsb back up to no higher than 240 and watch the temps

if your power supply is not stable OCin will not work

    what actual power supply?

You mentioned power supply I'm using the Ultra V 500 WATT that was FAR. Supposed to be good for only 350 WATT at full load. Only have the 1 DVD and HDD so far and the MSI 86MB onboard 256MB video card...maybe I'll save my empty beer cans and get a good PSU. I also wonder could it be the unmatched pair of RAM I got.

I would suspect the ultra PS, that 12 volt rail looks weak

the thermaltake 430's don't have 10$ off anymore

                    +3.3V@30A,+5V@28A,+12V1@14A,+12V2@15A,
                    -12V@0 .6A,+5VSB@2.0A

had some luck with these in a smaller size

wait for a sale, free shipping or a better rebate

The price has come down a lot since I picked up this case. Now I need a new motherboard. All the hardware will transfer easily except memory.

Oops, forgot to mention. I've seen some MOBOs that handle my CPU as well as Core 2 Duo and Quad Core -- very desirable.

Chewy - good choice for Power Supply? The reviews & specs look good, to me anyway

Reviewer mentioned that it has no PFC; how important is this?

probably a good choice, they are liberal with their specs but I have had good luck with the 350/400/450 ones in the past

prefer thermaltake but they aren't on sale much anymore
