Second attempt at oc'ing for me, this bios is totaly different from the A8N5X. I'll give some settings a shot when this WU is finished in about a day. I guess limit is the way to go and set it at 400 for the memory.

Right now the board is 200 X9.5 stock. I guess start and raise up from 200 X 9.

Yeah a weird bios. There are 2 or 3 later BIOS on the ASUS site for the board that supposedly support more processors. Right not the board has the 0411 version in it and there are 3 or so released since January. I wonder if any new options are in it?
My oldest daughter ansd son in law want a new puter and won't even think about overclocking. A decent CPU around 2 GHZ should do them fine. I can give this mobo to them and get a new one if need be

@Chewy is the System Stability Test in Everest wth the Stress on memory, CPU and FPU a good thing to run at 1 time. I took another bite of the apple and wanna see how it is going where it is before I try to jack it up anymore

Yeah I put it in at stock again at 4-4-4-12 and limited it to 800.

            And tweaking suggestions? Thanks again

disable 2T and see if it will run stable command 1

Whats good to run to check for stability, is the stress test in Everest OK? If so what tests to run at same time?

                Thanks

just do a latency bench and maybe a memory read and write before and after
                  disable 2T

bsod's are a good indicator of instability

don't really like stress tests with OC'd components

monitor temps during dual core encodes

@Chewy , no joy with the memory @1T..wouldn't boot

I had to back off the OC a lil, was folding @100% CPU and the onboard video went bonkers. Right now FSB at 249 25% OC in Everest and CPU Clock @2365 31%OC in Everest with 4-5-5-13-2t timings.

Seems with the Brisbane, Everest doesn't report the temps right it is showing ~18C for both cores. PcProbe shows the temp @41C.

                    Thanks again

what's the case/mobo temp from probe?

that may relate to the onboard video

also that's a crapload of bios updates, and yours is the minimum for that cpu?

Well I would probably do the update

MB temp from probe is 36C @100% for 1.5 hours folding. right now only the Arctic HSF and 1 120MM fan in the back

Yeah 3 depends full of updates are out for this mb already . The 1 I have is not even on the site as an update . It would be the first time flashing a mobo bios for me

I took another look and the 0411 I have is listed to me

I got the 0804 before I seen your post, the last 2 seem to be just for Vista problems. Or should I go for ther latest one?

my man Thanks. What your doing for me reminds me of helping my grandson learn to walk

btw I have had to flash several mobos just to get them to identify the cpu's

they never document all the changes in a bios revision, so latest is usually best

I had one I was upgrading the cpu in and it wouldn't even boot till I put the old one back in and flashed

Borrow LT's trenchcoat and make a tin foil hat
