I have a question Chewy, why were there less than 3000 samples?

he's fudging and doing quick scansComment

It helps a little, but sometimes not, with fewer samples each hit is weighted more. Quick scans miss narrow peaks, which gives a false quality, but if by chance it hits that single spike, the scan shows even worse.
Damn you ask hard questions. I am guesstimating a lot of this as I have not
crosschecked that many quick scans, just enough for me to know I trust them to discriminate crap from gold.Comment

Kirby,
Quick scans are not reliable enough for this kind of information.
It's customary to do an 8x full scan, post a png of that and a transfer test.
That will show the real story(or at least a glimpse of it).
We don't have anyone posting scans of DL burns over here,

Surprised that PgcEdit is not making your ISO. You need to run through the setup.
See the guide - http://www.digital-digest.com/~bluta...pgcedit_v2.htm

Thanks Chewy. I will run that test for you tonight. Are you sure you want the test run at 8X even if the disc is only rated for 2.4 - 4X??
Thanks blutach, I will check all my settings again and get back to you.System:

scan at 8x with those 6th gen litey's(optional but faster than 4x)
no point in creating data disk or making other burns, just post full quality scan and transfer test(graphs not tables)
don't expect "perfect" results, you are looking at the burn under a magnifying glassComment

Furthermore, I don't have a Win9X system to test PgcEdit. Therefore, I can't improve the burn function easily. Sorry.
Win9X is (luckily) completely obsolete now. You should update to XP as soon as possible!
Anyway, the quality of the media is not related to this problem. If PgcEdit doesn't create the ISO, the burner is never used! In fact, you can (at least with WinNT/2K/XP, Linux and MacOSX) use the burn function, even if you don't have a burner, to create an ISO.Comment

Hi Chewy.
I will have the screen shots up soon as I can. I keep getting "Out of Memory Errors" after the scan test finishes when I try to get screen shots. Don't know why, I have enough memory in this machine. Anyway, I am getting a new P4 machine built with XP. I seem to be hitting limitations now. If I install XP on my P3, I was told that XP will just run Dog-Slow even if my current hardware is compatible with XP. Its going to be nice to be able to create 1 ISO file instead of many due to the FAT32 file limitation of Win ME. I will be able to install Daemon Tools as well since I hear the movie must be in 1 ISO file to be able to mount it to view it.
