i am wondering would it be worth using the old version of imgburn cause that remembered the settings.or does any one know of a free burn engine that would.

imgburn not remembering booktype.
when i set imgburn to dvd-rom it works fine but when i reboot it returns to the dvd+default setting.is there a way for it to remember the booktype.i have a samsung drive with up to date firmware.any help appreciated.Comment

ImgBurn doesn't remember ANY booktype settings. Never has, never will.
It reads them from the drive when you bring up the 'booktype' dialog box, that is all.
Trouble is, the Samsung implementation is useless compared to all the other manufacturers. I do not know how to read the 'current' setting from samsung drives and they are not interested in telling me how to do it properly (I've had to guess everything).Comment

CD Speed, like Loco stated, sets the booktype permanently. I have bitset using CD Speed for my Benqs', my Sony, and my newer NEC with the 1Y.6 firmware, and each has retained the bitsetting permanently>MBK

ImgBurn sets the booktype permanently too (if the drive supports it). It's either that way by default (depending on manufacturer) or there's a specific option to set it permanently - and it will be named as such.
