selecting different drives for burning ImgBurn

I have started using ImgBurn alot just lately. I have noticed a problem while trying to select my E: burner. When I select in backup to create ISO image and burn in ImgBurn I then go to the backup section and then to ImgBurn. If I select the D: drive burner a NEC 3550a it takes right off and burns fine. If I select the E: drive burner a HP 640c I get a message
    DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_Volume)Failed!
    Device:[1:1:0] HP DVD Writer 640c JS04 (E(ATA)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access
    Reason: Access is denied

It then gives three choices Cancel Try Again Continue

If I press Try Again it then repeats the same message over again. If I press Continue it starts to burn to the blank DVD like it should. Why does this do this and what does it mean?

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks snagel

Why would this not do it when I select D: NEC 3550a burner? I do have Sonic Record now which uses DLA and Drop to Disc. and Nero which uses InCD. When I select the D: drive I get no message at all and it goes straight to burning. It is only when I select the E: drive burner the HP 640c.

It seems odd to me that it would effect only one out of two burner drives. WEIRD!

I am just guessing with this one but I am thinking that sonic may have a hold on just one, as that may be the default burner for that program?
I could be wrong in that though. I do know that sonic does create problems though. I dont use it. I have it free from some drives I have bought in the past but I never installed it. I use Nero 6.6.0.18 and IMGburn.

As far as how I found that info so fast.

Go to google.com and type in the search box - DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_Volume)

I have had a similar problem a few times where some program had a hold of my drive for me it was a matter of rebooting.
I didnt have that same error code your getting though.
