The Floppy is Dead: Time to Move Memories to the Cloud

Sony's decision to end 3.5-inch disk production is just another signal that local storage media and platforms cannot be trusted with your precious data

    Anybody still using these?

Not many files 1.44 mb anyhow.

I still have many new floppy drives. So yes U do still use them just to make bootable disks. That way I do not waste CD/DVD disks.

I have like 10 brand new 3.5 floppy drives. So I may just keep using them until I have no more to use.

I use CD-RW for booting. I never put one in this build a year and half ago.

I do remember getting excited when my new Windows 98 PC had a zip drive for more storage.
Then CD burning came and it was blown away

I liked the zip drive too. It copied on fast. Only thing is the disks were way over priced. I just used the one that came with the machine.

What the hell? It never wore out!
