just yesterday, bush is now able to rule over the checks and balances system!!! This is unconstitutional and not right! Our (my) Government was not meant to fall apart like this, especially in this time of need. I think that Bush wants to be like his father and do something that will be heroic, but he is unable to do this in part that he has too much ruling and he can't speak very well.

This is not what Was supposed to happen to our government that was formed in 1776!

I particularily dislike the personality of Bush and his government---they just seem dumb or unable to comprehend what the world is thinking. Bush can barely talk and when he does it looks like he's trying to hold back from laughing. Now Bill Clinton, he could get away with anything

The bull**** that comes out of Bush's mouth is hard to digest. War can and should always be avoided, the killing of innocent lives lost should not be tolerated!!!!

what we need right now if we do go to war is a fresh Eisenhower. He was a great President. He also was a war general, so he knows the "strategery" as bush would say.

what the american people need is to review thyre democratic system. i dont believe that Bush won that 2000 election rightfully, as i dont believe that he has much to say on this war.. in my point of view, Bush is a mirror, pointed at the american people to hide the true masters of your country. (oil companies and rich influential jews).. now dont go taking me for a Nazi, im just saying that in the U.S there is a handfull of people who contrull 250 million others by deceiving them with propaganda, brain washing an mass consumption. this is obvious even in this forum.

you are right about the fuell cell ENCHANTER .. for now...
because wouldnt the Bush administration had cut all funding towards environmental protection and alternative energy research, efficiency costs would be dropping because the whole problem resides in a lack of infrastructure.
Other countries though, have foreseen the advantages of environmental friendly technologies and are leading the way towrds a cleaner planet. this is why i have no doubts that soon (40-45 years.. when oil reserves will be agonizing )The US eill be in a dead end... unless of course, the American people regain controll of their contry.

well said onynx!!!! Americans would be fighting a war in Iraq based on lies and greed. They have already lost in the eyes of the rest of the world...............the support is just not there for their injustice and hunger to control everyone's economy!!! We the real peaceful nations of the world are tired of being bullied by them to join up with them in sin!!!

Well even if he didn't win fairly I do not believe Gore is running again. I could be wrong though. Something might change in the next year or so but I would like to try the Democratic government once again but no more Clinton types

oil companies and rich influential jews
I think this thread is getting a little out of hand, particular this statement above. I think it is much more accurate if it was changed to "oil companies and influential people/groups" (let's not forget those influential lobby groups that are so active in US politics).

I'll be monitoring this thread more closely, and if it get more out of hand, it will have to be closed.

Yes I do believe the "Jew" thing was out of hand. A person that might be Jewish might have the same though about us but they aren't saying anything. Try to be courtious about other religion groups people because this is a very interesting thread that I would like to continue to contribute to.

What the world would like the President to say

What the world would like the President to say

                            My fellow Americans:

After consulting with our loyal allies in Europe (LOL), speaking with United Nations officials (LOL), reading major American newspapers(LOL), listening to National Public Radio (LOL), consulting with Hollywood movie stars (LOL), and meeting with professors from our universities (LOL), I have changed my mind.

                            They are right.

I now realize that the most important goal America and its president can pursue is to be liked, hopefully loved, by mankind (LOL), and especially by France, Germany, China, and the Arab world. (LOL)

I now realize that we Americans who think in terms of good and evil are simpletons. (LOL) We should think, as the professors do, in multicultural terms and, therefore, render no moral judgment over Iraq or any other nation except Israel. Who am I to declare any regimes an "axis of evil"? (LOL)

I now realize that it was arrogance to make such a judgment on three regimes governed by men whom I should have tried better to understand. (LOL) Now that I realize America's primary goal is to be liked, I will never again call any regime evil. In fact, in consultation with the presidents and deans of our major universities, I have decided to rename the governments of Iraq, Iran and North Korea an Axis of Diversity. (LOL!)

I now realize that the only reason I ever considered putting thousands of young American lives in jeopardy was because of oil. I was deluded in thinking that Saddam Hussein might use his weapons of destruction against vast numbers of innocents, or to think because Saddam erased a sovereign nation from the map in 1991, he would contemplate doing such a thing again. (LOL!) The French have taught me that the way to deal with people whom I used to believe were evil is by giving them business contracts. (LOL)

Yes, all these people knew better than I that I considered attacking Iraq only in order to obtain cheap gas for American SUVs. (LOL) Even though it would have cost us far more money to topple Saddam Hussein than we would make from Iraqi oil. (good point) Even though I could simply have done what the French and Russians have done -- make deals with Saddam to buy all the oil we want. (its true) And even though we publicly promised that after Saddam, Iraqi oil will belong to the Iraqi people. (good point!)

Despite all that, the left somehow recognized that a war against Iraq was really only a way to enrich my oil buddies. (LOL) The left, whom I used to foolishly identify with appeasing and defending evil, have opened my eyes. (LOL) They are right that nothing America does is out of a sense of mission to lead humanity in confronting evil. That was all a cover up for our true motivation -- more wealth. That is why we alone stand by Israel -- for all that oil in the Negev. (LOL) That is why we protect Taiwan -- for Taiwan's bounteous natural resources. (LOL!) From now on, our moral model must be the Europeans who shape their Middle Eastern policies so as to be loved by 200 million Arabs rather than by a few million Israelis. (LOL!)

I now realize that America must be guided by Germany with its 100-year record of moral leadership; (LOL!) by France with nearly as long a record of standing up to evil; (LOL!) by our university professors, who almost alone in America understand that America and Israel are the world's villains; by the United Nations, which was so prescient in doing nothing during the Rwanda genocide and today provides more moral light with Syria on its Security Council and Libya (LOL!) heading its Human Rights Commission; by The New York Times and other newspapers that so insightfully attacked President Ronald Reagan for labeling the Soviet Union an evil empire; (LOL) and by China, which I used to identify with cultural genocide in Tibet, (good point!) but thanks to my new desire to be loved, I will now regard only as a huge potential source of love and cheap imports. (LOL)

My fellow Americans, I will no longer be calling you "my fellow Americans," but rather, "my fellow earthlings" (LOL) or "my fellow citizens of the world." (LOL) Nor will I conclude this or any future address by asking that God bless America. That annoys secular Europe, and if we aim to be loved, we can no longer speak in religious terms. (LOL)

Finally, given my new belief that America's task in the world is not to lead but to be loved, (LOL) I have decided to step down from the presidency as soon as Congress and the states pass a constitutional amendment allowing Al Gore to be president. (LOL!!) He, my predecessor President Clinton, and the whole Democratic Party have long believed that America's purpose is to be loved. They should be governing. (LOL!!!!)

My fellow world citizens, peace and love. (LOL!!!!!!!!!!!)

I have moved this thread to the off-topics forum, since this is not really digital video related.

Personally, I don't give a damn about Saddam and believe that he should have been gotten rid of during Gulf War I. I am against the war though, simply because it will screw up an already screwed up Middle East.

Regardless of your views on the Israel/Palestine issue, everyone must admit that this is the much bigger problem in the region, and is directly responsible for all the hate that is consuming the whole region. As long as there is hate, there will always be terrorism, and I'm afraid that war in Iraq will only produce more hate, terrorism, and it definitely won't help the Israel/Palestine issue.

If Turkey moves into northern Iraq (and it definitely wants to), then it will open up yet another boiling point in the region, as the Kurds (who have already been betrayed once by the US) will not just stand by and watch what they fear most. Then there is Iran, which might want to take advantage of the situation and start some kind of Islamic revolution in areas of Iraq it *already* has a foot in. And then there is the war on terrorism, which Iraq has very little to do with, and the war could turn out to be a deadly distraction. I think the list just goes on and on and on ...

There are better and much smarter ways of getting rid of Saddam, as he really doesn't have that much control over Iraq these days anyway (a non enthusiastic military, Republican Guards excluded, and little control of northern Iraq) - just like in Serbia, the democratic revolution must come from within, with the proper external pressures that the US is more than capable of exerting. No one wants Iraq to turn into another warlord ruled Afghanistan!!

                                quote:
Isnt it wonderful that our beloved neighbours are willing to guive out 30billion $$ to Turkish government, pay 300 000 soldiers for a prolonged vacation in the persian gulf, in order to "liberate" a nation who wishes to be left alone?

I believe he's right. Even though the reason of this war is oil, be assured that the oil gain won't be achieved. The muslims are really extreme people in many ways and be assured that if they lose or start losing the war, they'll st all of their oil on fire. And furthermore, the people that should be liberated will be in even more misery than he allready is. Take my country for instance. All the world, including the US has been assured that there's something terribly wrong with us, and that we need help. Now that we've got help, (sadly) we're in more deep sh** than we've been before. Except, of couse, the satisfaction of Milosevic being in prison. Furthermore, even the new, manufactured goverment is disliked (not without a reason) and there will be some major changes in spring... Stay tuned for more Balkan Freak Show.
