"Louis Saha's knee injury could rule him out until Christmas. Manchester United officials are concerned after scans revealed that the former Fulham star's medial ligament injury is worse than first thought and he faces up to four months on the sidelines.

If United's fears are confirmed then it leaves Sir Alex Ferguson short of strikers. Ruud van Nistelrooy is out for a month after a hernia operation and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not play again this term.

Alan Smith and Diego Forlan are now the only recognised first-team forwards fit to start the season and the Old Trafford boss could be forced to bring in someone before the transfer window closes at the end of the month…

One centre-forward who is available is Southampton's James Beattie, according to his agent Phil Smith. He claims the 26-year-old is keen to leave the St. Mary's Stadium and Tottenham, Charlton and Aston Villa are all keen."

    interesting developings huh?

On the Owen move. Morientes will not leave Real Madrid, as he's cup-tied now, after Wisla game. Nunez will leave real along with 8mln pounds to bring owen. Rafael Benitez also hopes he can get Juanfran in the deal, but thats unlikely.

So how many strikers does Real Madrid need? At least the Vieira signing makes sense in a football way. Liverpool will probably need a striker now though, they've only got Baros and Cisse, and neither have much Premiership experience. Might I recommend Wiltord

As for the "Hacked by the MPAA", see here:

Got something to say, but it's not related to anything else here? This is where it goes ...

        Saha seems to be fine:

The "media" up to it's old tricks again. The next thing you know, he'll be linked to Madrid.

Vieira is definitely staying unless Madrid coughs up more money:

He should be punished for thinking about leaving the club though, make him clean boots for a months or something.

Ironically, Liverpool may use the Owen transfer money to buy Alonso, who in my opinion is the one player that Real Madrid actually needs (even more so than Vieira).

            Just added some new titles:

            * To rip or not to rip: that is the question (based on your suggestion)
            * Do not try to break CSS. Try to realize the truth. There is no CSS (inspired by The Matrix)
            * There is no soccer thread in the off-topics forum (a little inside joke )

Saw the opening ceremony (it started at 3am here in Australia), and was impressed. It was artistic and had a good message and theme - very well done considering their budget and limitations.

                          Hey guys, how are you.

Saw the games today, Arsenal v Everton and Chelsea v United.

Firstly, Arsenal truely looked like Champions today. They really were sooo good. Reyes was such an amazing signing by Arsene Wenger, and proved his worth again today (as well as when they beat United last week).

Now on to the United match. very disappointed in the result. But....in saying that there are a lot of positives to be taken from that match (and no, Forlan isnt one of them lol). Firstly, the goal we conceded was unfortunate. Our slightly inexperienced keeper showed that, when he shouldve caught the ball, he attempted some sort of strange side kick thing which was stupid. It was a lucky goal for Chelsea in my Opinion. Chelsea and United were very similar in the first half (though i was distracted cuz i was on the phone to a hot blonde for most of it).

The second half for me was a really excellent performance considering the loss of key players for that match. Ok, you may feel that the 10 or so Key players missing is an exageration, well so do (explain below). With the players we did have, espcially Roy Keane and Giggs, they performed really well. We dominated Chelsea after about 15 minutes into the second half. Why didnt we score? it was simple, there was no real talent up front for us. Alan Smith is excellent, but really learning the role as a striker. We needed our big guns to make it happen. Diego Forlan, dispite the odd decent move, is a complete waste of space for us. He gave the ball away every time and hit a shot into the top tier of the stadium. Why o why do we continue to keep him, and Bellion for that matter.

Down to our key players missing, not as many as was suggested. These are our real key players that were missing:

Rio Ferdinand - we miss him big time and have for so long.

Wes Brown - An Experienced Central Defender is needed. We were better with Roy Keane there who was outstanding, but we missed him in the midfield though Miller did a good job (john o'shea wasnt bad either)

We Really miss Rudd Van Nistelrooy - so many of those balls into the box could probably been converted by him. His lightning fast reactions and abilities to get in the places we need him are why he is sucj an asset.

Ronaldo - We missed the youngster creativity. Instead we had no real one on one movement (apart from Giggs) on any of the Chelsea defensive players. He would have destroyed some fo them in parts of the game. Also on Ronaldo, if you saw the 4-2 loss of Portugal you will reaslise that he is completely wrecked. The ppor fella is gonna need a good while to recover when he comes back to United.

Louis Saha - although not a dominant force yet, he should his worth a good few times. If we were 1 nil down and had the option of having Saha, van Nistelrooy and Smith all on the pitch, instead of Smith, Forlan and Bellion, is there any doubt in anyones mind that we would not have equalised and probably gone on to win? Of course we would.

Sir Alex, please please please buy us a top drawer striker to play atleast for the first few months of the season or we could be left behind before it even starts. We cant afford to loose games, not even one. Oh...and make sure that isnt Alan Shearer, he's too slow lol....

Chelsea vs Man United: 90m + new manager = same result as last season

I think Man United deserved at least a draw for the way they controlled the second half, although games are not won by the team that controls the game, but rather, the team that scores, and unfortunately Man United didn't look like they would (or coult) score. I think had Ronaldo been there (even without the other players), you would have got something from the game.

Arsenal were good. Really good. "Cesc" Fabregas was outstanding (and not just for a 17 year old), a man of the match performance. Vieira will have a hard time getting back into the squad

Despite the scoreline, Henry didn't score, but as always useful in scaring defenses and providing assists. Reyes only played 60 minutes, and as a winger (not his most effective position), but he looks a different player to last season (a lot of work in the gym, according to the player). Ljungberg is playing like he did at Euro 2004, and was everywhere. Bergkamp seems to be getting better with age - probably the best long range passing in the world. At times, it seemed we were playing with 4 strikers. Cygan did well, although he will cost us goals with his mistakes until Campbell is back. Another broken record: our best result at Goodison Park in 46 years. But then again, Everton are crap.

....and of course Arsenal are entering the thirds season with no defeats. They were unbeaten at the very end of two seasons ago, compeltely unbeaten last season, and still unbeaten this season lol. Oh....bring them on i say. Hopefullywhen we play you on the 24th October (and ill be at the match) we will hammer you. Good old Rio will be back, Heinze will e there as well. RvN & Saha should be back. Ronaldo should be playing by then full matches and Liam Miller shouldve settled in.

                              Come on the Reds
