and what about shearer? on the score sheet already he's amazing.

also pedersen and okocha show scoring abilities for bolton.

and another Cole shows up this time in Aston Villa.
that makes how many Cole's? 5-6?

      lol @ the Cole's

Alan Shearer is just to old to make any use of him. He'll start the season well, and he may end up finishing it well. But he is Newcastles top striker still and even Bobby brings him off 75mins into a match. I just think for the price we would pay for him, its too much. There are plenty of talented strikers out there, like people like Alan Smith, Louis Saha, etc..., that can be bought for less money and can perform when we need them, ie: when we have a striker crisis like this. I always feel that United should have atleast 5 top strikers.

People may argue that we have on our books at the minute 6 strikers and that should be enough cover. Do we really consider Diego Forlan and David Bellion as cover for our 4 top strikers, one who may not get to play again. Alex needs to address this problem very soon.....

For Instance this young striker could fit the bill as a likely stand-in for the top 3 strikers we have. He is young, wont expect to start most games, and looks very promising:

heard about saviola to monaco? on loan, just like morientes. if monaco continues this they will be getting each year a top & unwanted striker who will do great for them - great strategy dont you think?
          why dont MU get Saviola?
and why oh why didnt we buy Kluivert. i;'d love to see the dutch strike working together, getting to know each other. say what you want about patrick, i still see him as one of the best out there. i like barca, but i feel he did not do well in the club on the whole, maybe he should've left after like first 2 seasons at nou camp...

any of you guys interested in volleyball?
poland did great in the starting game at olympics, we beat Serbia/Montenegro (the defending champions) 3:0 and today it's time to beat greece come on Polish volleyboys!

and what about USA's basketball dream team? what a humiliation. got beaten by puerto rico - the same they beat time and time again with no problems

back to football... this bordeaux ace looks ok. i think thou we need a proven striker quickly.

I though RvN and Kluivert didn't get along or something?

I think you do need one more proven Premiership striker, although it has to be someone who is willing to sit on the bench. If Chelsea were stupid enough to loan out their strikers to other Prem teams, then Crespo or Mutu would be really handy (although we'll probably get Mutu, since Wenger is a big fan apparently).

A young striker will take at least 6 months just to get settled, by then you shouldn't have a striker shortage anymore. Wiltord is still available, and he has an excellent record of scoring at Old Trafford

We need another striker for Europe as well, since Bergkamp won't fly, Aliadiere is injured, and if Henry is injured as well, we only have Reyes and van Persie. We'll almost certainly get another defender though.

Kluivert & RvN are not the best of friends, and the dutch striker hasnt been doing well at Barca or even getting into the Holland side at all. I think he is a spent force. Now Saviola, there is a star that wouldve been great to see at Old Trafford. I remember watching him in his early days at River Plate thinking "i wish United would send a scout to look". He really is a class act, especially for such a small player.

Bergkamp & his flying lol. He is such a laugh in that way. I remember him driving across Europe 4 days early for the odd Champions League matches.

Sir Alex announced today that he is unlikely to sign any new strikers in this transfer window. I just hope that he gets ridd of Forlan before he really does some damage and manages and own goal or something lol. Our song used to be:

              Diego....oh oh oh
              Diego....oh oh oh
              He came from Uruguay
He made the blue boys cry
              Diego....oh oh oh
              Diego....oh oh oh

              ...im thinking it should be:

              Diego....oh oh oh
              Diego....oh oh oh
              Diego's on the ball
              He's gonna score fu*k all
              Diego....oh oh oh
              Diego....oh oh oh

I think its more suiting to his striking capabilities. lol

Saw young strikers Rossi playing for United in the game for Ternent. He scored a goal but it was dissalowed. Im hoping in a few years he will be top drawer - he shows the potential.

I've heard that Bergkamp's father-in-law does all the driving. Sometimes he would drive together with another player. I think Edu drove him once and Dennis swore never to sit in Edu's car again, as Edu is a horrible driver. A joke is that you can always tell which car is Edu's, because it's the one thats smashed up.

                Some other interesting Bergkamp facts:

                * His parents were huge Manchester United fans, and named him after Denis Law. They weren't huge fans of spelling, apparently.

                * Dennis was a huge Tottenham fan when he was a kid, and his favorite player was Glenn Hoddle.

                * Dennis is actually dyslexic

lol on Bergkamp. i respect his talent, he's a great player, but can't he , i don't know, close his eyes or something in the plane? or take some sleeping pills, to sleep during the flight?

saviola would be great, but apparently alex wont buy anyone this month for the strike force...

ruud and patrick are not firends, that's obvious, but my hypotheses are just little dreams of a dissapointed fan of both

                  lol on the diego song

                  Diego....oh oh oh
                  Diego....oh oh oh
                  He is from Uruguay
And thats where he should stay
                  Diego....oh oh oh
                  Diego....oh oh oh

lol - yeah - thats another good Diego song

Bergkamp is a great player, i dont actually like him, but i recognise his huge talent. He actually is getting better and better these days, i think its his footballing sense that is prevailing.

Those are some interesting facts there on old bergy

Speaking of Penises (or is that Penii), Vieira's nickname is "La Grande Saucisse". No wonder Real Madrid were so interested, although obviously they weren't willing to pay the "per inch" price that Arsenal had set on him.

                              Man U is the bomb

i'm a yank so i don't get to see but a friendly every summer at Giants Stadium. my family in the UK are Season ticket holders for all home games and thanks to the YES network i get to see the boys almost every week. i saw them play AC Milan this summer and i almost died when they missed 2 in penalty. i need to know a true fans opinion, what do they need to do to get the fire started under there forwards. and i heard Beckham might be wearing a different jersey when he returns from spain. i hate to bore you but US soccer is crap and it's all i got so please educate me. i'd like to at least have a moderately smart conversation when i visit them.
                              thanks

                                Yes Network

With Yes Network i get all Man U games as Well as Yankees for free(now part of the NY Metro basic cable package). I find it interesting that the 2 most recognizable sports teams in the world( Yankees and Man U) are both marketed by the same man. God loves you George, because no one else does.
