      yup

another note about formatting HDD's - dont do a quick format for pete sake! format to the FULL - its better that way and less errors and any errors will be shown! Because if u quick format - job is not proper which means more problems which means you blame Microsoft which means that you give them a bad name

sorry - I just like to do things properly and professionally and no ez way out

      sorry

"well why bother quick format anyway? just delete the stuff "

you cannot just delete everything while in windows, thus the quick format option.

there is a problem with the ide controller on your motherboard - hence why your stuff goes "boof" LOL!

WD rules - just convinced my entire uni staff to buy WD - and they are now thinking of putting it into their computer systems used by the student

You have to ask yourself why the hard drive manufacturers have a warranty at all. If WDC drives work so well, why not a lifetime warranty??

They lowered thier 3 years to 1 years on most thier desktop drives. Make you think?

Everything will die after 1 year (365 days). Its the way it was engineered. Your lucky if it works beyond that.
Government throws more money at a problem, so it looks like they are making a difference.

warrentee is 3 years - trust me

the only reason they reduced it is because they find that more and more people are buying the harddrives and they dont want to ship every customer harddrives - only where they purchased the harddrive from are meant to ship new harddrives to them.

when the place they purchased the hdd from runs out of their warrentee - you THEN send it to WD

its 3 years - for me anyway

                                and WDC are f***** awesome
