It is a program that is dedicated to detecting and removing trojans and the registry entries that are there. I used it on a computer at work and it found 16 different trojans. after it was done. I ran the new microsoft anti-spyware to remove all the spyware that trojans loaded and the computer was fine again. the microsoft anti-spyware seems to be alot more thorough than adaware.
Originally posted by cynthia Saw that installed itself on my PC - but where can I find it? I have searched around but I can't find where you launch it.
It loads onto the hard disk at c:/programfiles/microsoftanti-spyware
It set it up in the start bar as microsoft anti-spyware and put a icon on the desktop that looks like a bullseye. Also under msconfig startup it will be in their as
gcasServ C:\programfiles\microsoftanti-spyware
It is a very nice program. It can be ran with realtime protection the with remove threats as they try to load in
Well, I don't install it that directory in the swedish version - I can't find it there. Whats the name of the .exe file? Could try to do a search on my hard disk to find out where it's hidden.
It's worth a try. Let me know if you get it to work and what you think. As far as the one you were referring to, i've had that happen a couple of times with downloads
security is different with firefox (detailed password management, pop-up-blocker etc)
tabbed browsing reduces the amount of system resources this browser uses (open 4 instances of IE and compare the total amount of memory it needs to what firefox requires with 4 tabs)
in addition to that i also like the (ctrl + f) searchfunction much better than the separate windows IE needs; the integrated google search masque is nice as well
last but not least i like the ability to change firefox' look by using themes
