Bikes are fun. I am really just a big chicken compared to others I know that ride. My first bike was an 83 Yamaha Midnight Virago, black and gold with factory faring, saddle bags and trunk. It looked like a miniture touring bike. A really sweet ride and 50+ mpg. I never should have sold it.

I resurected an 82 Susuki GS650 from an apartment parking garage. It had been sitting for more than 5 years and the carburators looked like lil green Chia pets inside. I work with some people that went to the 100th aniversary, quite the party as they tell it.

Oh thats too bad you missed the 100th, it was a party of a lifetime! LOL

You wouldnt not belive how many people from all over the WORLD came in for it. Not a motel or hotel room empty not campground empty. They even made the WI. state fair park , Waukeha county and washington county, and even the Racine county fair parks huge camp grounds and still that wasnt enough for all the bikers to go.
Many people rented rooms in their own homes and rented out space in the yards for the bikers to camp. Huge parties everywhere! It wasa blast!

In the UK where I am it is £4.27/$7.50 per gallon. It is around that price all year round. It has been £5/$8.77 a few months back.

I paid $2.49/us gal just outside Travis AFB here in Northern California. With summer coming up we're gonna get screwed again with that 'special summer blend' and the so-called increased demand.

Kinda makes me feel glad I got rid of my 89 Mustang GT and bought the more economical Ford Focus. going from 18mpg up to 30mpg on the average is really sweet.

@ Raven I am with you. I would love to have a crotch rocket. I have a friend that has a bike and we go riding in the summer. Big motorcycle show in Ocean City Maryland @ the end of summer. They are so addicting, I wish the weather were warm year round so I can ride. (also helps to save gas an mileage with the Cougar)

Gas prices in our area can change in a twenty four hour period 2 times. They can go up or down and every time you turn around they are doing something with the price. One day a couple of weeks ago it was $2.29 per gallon at 9 am, by 2pm it was $2.44 and the next day at 9am $2.39. It's crazy. It has been $2.49 for the last 5 days but today did see one station with $2.41.

And unfortunately I do drive a SUV (Jeep Liberty Renegade) and it doesn't have the best gas mileage either. But on the other side when I slammed it in the ditch this winter it kept me from getting hurt and didn't it didn't get a scratch either! Midwest, winter, 25 miles to work every day, you gotta have a four wheel drive. (actually had an easy winter up till now we have a blizzard warning for tonight, 8-12 inches blowing, drifting snow, 30 mile winds ect..We just had 2 tornadoes hit at the same time on March 12, crazy weather!,

So does anyone elses gas prices have such constant changes or are they just putting it to us? Ours changes at least 2x a week.

                  Hello Smkymntgrl

I'm in kansas and our gas prices usually change right before the weekend. Lately every week. Don't know what the government is up to but don't like it.

Well they just announced this morning that the price per barrel has dropped again, yet price per gallon increased another 14 cents in the last week. Can we say 'screwed'?

Is it the first time it is being shown? There are some excellent episodes to come.

Our gas prices have not raised ever since Bush came out and said he was going to start investigating the prices a couple of weeks ago. It has just gone down. It's amazing! Gas today at $2.67, haven't seen that in midwest IL in quite some time. I would have bet money they would have raised it Friday because of the Memorial Day Weekend! Maybe they will hit everyone on Monday when they come home with empty tanks from the weekend!lol

cheapest i could find today in pacific northwest was 2.99 gallon for regular unleaded. I usually don't even pay attention about gas prices i just fill up wherever is closest but i heard some co workers talking about gas prices. I knew prices went up, but whoa
