That house and the whole neighborhood was distroyed by Katrina. There are only a few homes standing there.

I've lived in 7 states and Japan. Will be moving back to California in the next few months. Hubby got a new hotel, so we're going from Disney World to Disneyland, LOL!

Wasn't in Katrina, but took calls for the Red Cross to register Loved Ones. That was hard, but I found people for families who were separated. Made it worthwhile.

I'll tell you though, I'll take an earthquake over a hurricane or tornado anyday! This is hubby joking around at the end of Hurricane Jean in 2004:

I would take the tornado over the earth quake. LOL earth quake shakes the whole state where a tornado only hits here and there just stay out of its path and pray your home isnt in it.

Did you see any manatees or crocs. Post some of those pics!! I saw both at NASA in Mar 2002

I saw some dolphins, and my digital camera was the only one in my family fast enough to get some pics

Unfortunately they were all pics of the fin on top.

Dolphins are very hard to photograph especially without a polarized lens. The pictures we took were awful and you could barely make out the shape!!

It has to do with the shutter speed I think, I set it on the fastest and they seemed to look good on the 2.5" camera screen. My dad's "super" digital camera however took too long and they were all blurred.

I shall look through my Florida pics and upload some of those.

Here's a sunrise in the Bahamas...



The Atlantis has a huge aquarium, and this manta ray was being released into the ocean b/c it got too big. I couldn't believe how they just air-lifted it out a quarter of a mile off the beach and let it go! In the US, PETA and Greenpeace would have been overlooking every step with scorn! LOL

I have been on many quakes growing up in CA. There was only 2 that caused damage. So I guess I am going by what I experience, not everyone else's experience.
