which one deserves name football more...the game people in usa etc call soccer is here in europe called football - and its played by footh/feet excluding any contact of the ball with the hand so my opinion is that so called soccer deserves name football

I guess I will let you guys follow the english lead on this, as they damn near invented the game.
Course they call kerosene parrafin and gasoline petrol.

I'll write the NationFootballLeague and tell them to change their name to NAFL.

I believe if you look way back, it has Chinese origins. In Europe it would be called a football not a soccer ball. What would you do about Rugby Football?

it wasnt supposed to be argument, but i think if you can use things like that, what stops you to call a sport where people carry ball in their hands - football

Don't forget in US Football they have to use their feet to run not to mention punting and kicking like PA suggested. But in all fairness it doesn't matter to me if I go to Europe and happen to bring subject of soccer I will know to call it football to whom ever I am talking to

Thats right soup, we play footy with a football. Played yesterday after the England game, and scored a fine double hatrick!! It's amazing how well you play after a few beers!

                            Origins of Rugby.

Football is Football and anything else is just a poor relation except Cricket which is the sport of gods and gentlemen!

Well when I played, we called it fitba " ye're fitba crazy, ye're fitba daft" & I never could play any good after a couple of pints of Tartan. Nobody has even mentioned the CFL, Canadian Football League.
