I don't know why but I like the fact that this thread was moved here. Rudder is amidships. We're on a reach. Red sky at night sailor's delight. "Let not the sun go down on your anger". blah blah blah

Yo Cats, I kinda like it when the rudder is going hard stop to stop and doing figure eight steering trials during a full power run.Not registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

JM1647, Last boat I sailed regularly was a 10 meter Pearson with a 150 Genoa and 6' fin keel. I have had to give up sailing (and flying) due to the nature of my spinal disability. I am presently getting rid of a 19' O'day mariner for a ridiculous price and that will be the end of big boat sailing. I intend to build a sharpie design and do day sailing with my son. No more white knuckle stuff though. Never did make it to the southern cross.Comment

@Cats - I was never on a sail boat, just the big boys, ships of Uncle Sam. Hit some heavy seas one time, and the waves ripped off the stern accomadation ladder and antennaes of the flight deck of the USS Kitty Hawk (an aircraft carrier) during sea trials. What a trip that was I'll tell yaNot registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

Whitney, though (and also served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, including the Tet Offensive!!) The USS Kitty Hawk, America's pride at sea!! She's a beauty, alive and kicking.Comment
