I am in Saskatchewan we are about 2 1/2 hours from the US border our summers are great 80's to 90s (Fahrenheit) but winters....well -20 to -40 (Fahrenheit) is pretty much the norm..As well that is not including the wind chill. I remember winters that with the wind chill it would be -75F

I am about a 9 hour drive from the Canada boarder so your proabably about 1,000 miles or so more north then me. You probabaly are starting to get colder now, here we are still running the central air still in the 80's and 90's been dropping in the 60's over the night though. What you need now is one of those bonfire grills for decks to warn up your deck for the colder weather so you can use it before the freeze.
My uncle had one and it heats up the whole deck they sit out there in the winter when its sub zero out side they work great.
