Congratulations, on your real estate upgrade. Real estate is almost always a good method of making money. I am sure 10-15 years down the road when you are ready to sell this house, you will be making a super great profit.
I know two people who buy and upgrade and then sell and make super great profits. Good business to get into.

Well, I have been complaining about my "new" 70 yr old house in CA. Absolutely everything in this house has to be repaired, replaced, or repainted.

Well, you have me beat, jmet! You have a lot of work to do but the house has a lot of potential. It will be so pretty when you're done!

I have to agree with that one.
All of my padio furniture was FREE from what people threw away.

It all looked like total junk. I took it home, sanded it down and threw a new coat of paint. Stuff looks new now and nice too.
All it realy cost me was about $1.50 for the sand paper and about $8.00 for the paint.

Not bad for a table and 6 chairs of which 2 are recliners/rockers

I am sure that house will need more then paint but I cant wait to see what it looks like with a new paint job.

Well, speaking of paint..........we were gonna paint it this weekend but, rain wouldn't go away.........so that got postponed.

Edit: We did get all of the eaves enclosed and finished decking (OSB) the back room (my office).

OSB is just what its called, well the only thing I have heard anyway. Another name you would know is "decking".

I love all the windows. You could use plantations shutters for window treatments, too cute!

Well, it was a beautiful day today so we decided to do alittle painting. The next thing we are going to do now is finishing roofing (putting the shingles on). Then we will move inside to have the electrical done, plumbing, & air conditioner. Then we should sheet-rock after that.

Edit: Here is a before picture so you don't have to scroll all the way to the top of the thread.

Looking good. How's the weather there in winter? If it's pretty bad you might want to rush that roof.

It was 90 degrees today. Winters here aren't too bad, maybe only for like a week or two in December/Janurary.
