    Figured it out

Moved the file to a shorter discription. deleted all the old files and then i redid it it worked fine.

one more problem figured it out though the when shrinking the bid rate the sound did not match the first 2 vob files. but I redid it and when it came to the end of info edit I didnt allow it to redo the vts files and it worked fine.

        Re Dsquorpion

Hey man, What software did you use? if it saves time on doing a backup, then it has got to be a good idea? If you let me know, I can put that into the guide as well

        Cheers
        Paul.

i went to www.ifoedit.com and went to the section on transcoding part of a movie using vobedit

right now i am doing the bourne identity and at rip the movie is 6,743kb then after ripping out the extras it is 5,700kb, so i am going to transcode vob1,2 to 50% to get me to my target size

and i think u can use this technique to copy a whole dvd to 1 dvd-r (with considerable shrinking of parts of the movie)

              re: swanside1

well actually i went through a few extra steps( but u know me) what i was thinking was instead of rempeg the whole movie, which takes forever seems like, i tried it on bourne identity and seemed to work quite well,

i used rempeg on the first 2 vob files of the movie, i used 50% for rempeg then had to
remuxe them back to vob files with ifoedit

i renamed the vob files to vts1_001, vts1_002 and so on(so vob edit would know what order to put them

then i used vobedit to merge vobcellid' and the movie turned out pretty good(can't tell much of a difference)

i noticed some artifacts on movies with alot of action scenes, so i just reencode the slower part of the movies which is usually the first

took about 1hr 15 min per vob file i reencoded, much better than 13-15hrs doing the whole movie

my original after stripping was 5700mb and after doing 2 vob's it was 4600mb and it fit

of course it's not an exact science yet, at least until i get ur help

              lol

                Re Dsquorpion

                Hey, Hows it goin'

I will have a proper look at it next month, when I am home again, it sounds like it is better, if it can encode it quicker.

                    Guys,I need your help....

I`ve been trying to play "heat" and "casino" after I format them using ifoedit and rempeg in swansides guide and the funny thing about this is that they both freeze several of minutes before the movie ends.
Now these movies are 3 hours long and I tried everything but nothing works...

I haven`t been talking to you guys because the last time I talked,I was still trying to get the both movies right.

My playstation 2 and home dvd player both freeze...

I`ve wasted alot of dvd-r`s on these movies...
The dvd-r`s that I am using work for the rest of my movies fine, but these two...

I even tried a different way of doing the format after using rempeg:

After rempeg is done and you are suppose to open up the formated file from Ifoedit in the beggining of the guide,I even tried to open u the movie file that dvd decrypter first did and then use that with the .m2v movie but nothing happens.I don`t know what`s going on...

                    I NEED HELP BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alicia i would suggest from all the trouble, just split them to 2 dvd-r with ifoedit, and no rempeg,

i had a problem with signs, it was about 30 mb over after stripping the extras so i just ran the last vob through rempeg and it fit after merging with vobedit

                        Alicia

Hi, sorry it took so long to get back, but, Does the File version of the DVD play OK in your PC, in something like power dvd?

And then, try the disc you have burnt in your PC as well, see if this plays OK

I have had trouble like this myself, and found out through experimenting with different media, it seems to work, another Big NO No is, do not put lables onto the DVD-R top, as this makes the laser bounce off the reading surface when it sees the glue from the Label.
I used what I thought were solid dics, you can not even see through them, and put about 5 labels on the disc's, only to find they wouldn't play anymore in the PS2 or the DVD player, if they did, they would be choppy, and I ended up re makeing the DVD onto new discs.

Like I say before, the quality of the disc is important, Try to use a disc which is 2x compatible of writing onto it, and if you look at the disc's, they say Gen 4 or some say 3,2 or even nothing, Try to use Gen 4, as these are the latest types out I think, There might even be a gen 5, I dont know?

If the movie plays OK in the computer, then I would say it was the type of disc that the PS2 doesnt like, even if you tried to clean the laser had with a disc cleaner and the solution that comes with it may help.

Hope any of this works or helps you out.

                        Paul

Guys,I got a big deal here for you`s and I think you are going to love it and thank me later...

Have you ever heard of a software calledVD2ONE???

If not you have to have-it.
This software is the same as REMPEG but it takes the whole movie only 17 minutes to encode-it to fit into a DVD-R.

The free trial is at www.dvd2one.com

It is very easy, but no disrespect swanside1`s guide in the first page, but this dvd2one to much for that guide to handle.

DVD crypter is the same use dvd2one after the movie is finished(17 mintues) use ifoedit (get vts sectors) button and you are ready to burn...

I can`t take the credit, vljenewein can.

He posted it in the DVD Backup section called: Ripped,resized,6.4gb movie burned in 87 minutes...

The software costs $43 but let me tell you guys that it is worth it.
It works for any movie size and finishes in 17 minutes tops.

But it`s worth it.The last post that I did,I use DVD2ONE and the movies played like GOLD, as if I were at the movies myself.

                          Seriously,DEMO trail www.dvd2one.com

                          It`s to easy,try it...

                            Re Alicia

Have you got the full version of this software or the trial version?

I have had a look, and downloaded the trial version, but it will only encode 30mins of movie, and the download server is not working to get the full version.

Please lmk how I create a folder named VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS in Nero. I see the picture but I don't see how he created the folders! I'm up to this part in the turorial and I'd like to burn this thing!

"Click new and browse to the directory that contains your files, add it to the compilation, but ensure they are in the folder named VIDEO_TS, to make it completely compatible, add a folder and call it AUDIO_TS as I have done in the below picture."
