Can you use TitleWriter program as Stand-alone or do I need to have DVDLab or something else.

I just want to add few .vob (.mpg) files together and have a MENU to operate them with.

    Thanks!

Just download the package - there are menu blanks in them.

If you don't like the backgrounds, you can substitute a BMP with VobBlanker for example.

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

TW Uses PgcEditView for thumbnails and capture (Menu Command Editor)
and Uses DvdShrink for as a transcoder in Automated ("MultiShrink" mode)

TW doesn't care what menu you feed it. The Templates (SimpleMenus) just cover all movie only related (menu)functions (Play,Chapters,Audio and subtitle). with virtually no overhead.

LabPro was used to create the SimpleMenu Templates (you can create your own from any menu designer)
The Generic switch just means you followed the KISS rule (as to button command links)

          Hi guys,

Thanks Blutach for your feedback. FallenAngel's pointer went right over my head ... don't quite get it ... since I am not that savvy ... but I am getting around.

          Thanks again to you all,

          G!

            Hi FallenAngel,

Do you have an instruction on how to use the TW? Or an Example?

            Thanks,

            G!

Just noticed -- All prior links in this thread (and how did that happen) go to a seriously old Digital digest location without showing the SimpleMenu folder

Heres the link you need both Titlewriterfiles and Simplemenu folders www.dvdshrink.info/titlewriter

how do you add the original menu with the new titlewriter?

i came across Cynthia's guide, but it was for version 2.001 i think, and obviously, a lot has changed since.

First read Visualhelp.rtf -- Only difference is the folders you browse to (You must also select the VTS_??_vob that contains the menu. (there is an options in settings to auto select the largest menu into the First Title(movie)

                      Check Playback

If not use Happy Face to fix the selected menu.

First of all, great thanks to FallenAngel for this useful tool.

I've created a DVD with WinAVI of 5 titleset without a menu, each title has about 9 chapters. The DVD will start playing from movie 1 once it's inserted into a set top DVD player.

After reading through the 14 pages of this link and the Visualhelp.rtf, still unable to get TW to work for my created DVD. After loading the DVD folder in TW, the Window "Select Menu to Add To Compilation" shows :

Video ts -- No Menu Selected:
Video Title VTS_01_1.VOB -- No Menu Selected:
Video Title VTS_02_1.VOB -- No Menu Selected:
Video Title VTS_03_1.VOB -- No Menu Selected:
Video Title VTS_04_1.VOB -- No Menu Selected:
Video Title VTS_05_1.VOB -- No Menu Selected:

While it shows just one line in the example of Visualhelp.rtf :
                            Vmgr No Menu Selected:

When I clicked on the first line "Video ts -- No Menu Selected:" and select a templatemenu, the DVD plays the menu and then plays only the first title with whatever button pressed. ie all buttons on the menu are only for the chapters in the first title.

What I want is just a menu with 5 buttons, each corresponding to a title when press.

Thanks in advanced for any help

The menu selector content you initially see is based on the last Menu TW has imported. (I guess this is the first time TW has been used to import a menu)

                              Undo Changes

I'm fairly sure one of these settings was off do the same thing but
Menu Is generic -- Checkbox checked
                              >>Settings make sure If Generic -- Import ... is checked.
And don't check Bypass Vmg playback
I assume you are selecting the Menu10Movie template.
