Stripped Unwanted Audios from DVD, still got problems

To remove the gap between the remaining tracks, you have to turn on the DVD Shrink option Output Files / Logical remapping of enabled streams.
Take care, however, as using this option can lead to serious problems. Use the DVDShrink plugin for PgcEdit: it has a function to check if it is safe to use this option with the current DVD.

Note also that you can remove the useless stream with PgcEdit, but again, do it at your own risk. To remove the stream, right-click on any PGC of the domain, and select Domain Stream Attributes. Tick the Delete box of the french audio track, and click OK. Verify carefully if the audio commentaries can still be selected via the audio or bonus menu, and that the right track is selected.

Hi.

I did that check first. The plugin says recommended OFF so I took its tip, then I used DVDSHRINK to remove that French track.

I can still see the French track listed in POWERDVD (greyed out, disabled).

How do sort this / shift the commentary tracks up?

Move the numbers up in the list in the PGC Editor. Then, if you have menus, you will need to adjust any SetSTN's to match them. This is easy if they are set directly, but difficult if set via a gprm.

If you don't know what you're doing, live with it.

Since the plugin has recommended to leave the option off in Shrink, there are certainly indirect SetSTN commands in the DVD. So, I agree with blu. If you are not an expert in VM command editing, leave the DVD as it is.

You might try however to remove the "fr" code in Domain Stream Attributes. Leave this field blank and save. I don't know how PowerDVD or your standalone will react, but they should be unable to display "French" any more.

Another trick is to duplicate another stream to take the place left free by the removed french track. You have to modify the domain stream attributes, and the stream assignments in each PGC of the affected domains. You will be able to select that track again.
