Remember, I only processed disc 2 per your instructions. Before, the process hung when I processed the joined VOBs (disc 1 & disc 2). Just guessing here, but maybe the problem is in disc 1? Or, in the joined discs? Do you want me to process disc 1 or the joined discs? Or, w/out LogFixingPacks?

I understand. So , disc 2 is OK
Please try disc 1 in keep mode with "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles" (needed because in keep mode it is not automatically turned on by VobBlanker). If it success, it indicates disc 1 is also OK.
So, finally, process the joined disc (be sure you're activating the trace "LogFixingPacks" )
But first of all, let me know what are you exactly doing..
Setp 0: join the VOB files of disc2 in only ione big file using dos copy/b command
Step 1: Replace last tiny cell of disc1 with the big VOB file (disc2), w/o "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles", and it works fine. (If you check "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles" in this phase I'm expecting VB will also hang)
Step 2: Try to split the big cell and it hangs.
Am I wrong?

I suppose it is easier to start over. I think this is the simplest and fastest method:- Begin by removing the tiny cell (VOB ID 2) in your original side 2 with PgcEdit. You don't need it, and it causes many problems, as you know now.
- Then, process that domain with FixVTS (in place) to remove physically the tiny cell from the VOB files.
- Now, load side 1 in VB, and replace the last tiny cell by the modified VOBs of side 2. Process everything (all menu ant titles domains), and output to a new folder, which will be your reauthored DVD.
- Load the new DVD in VB, and split the cell (of the original side 2) to recreate the missing chapters. You should select the position where the first frame of the new chapter is visible. Be sure to use the next and prev buttons to select the right split point, as the slider is not precise enough. (Use VB 2.1.3.0 beta4, easier than the old version, as it can create several chapters in the same cell in the same operation.)
- Add a new cell with PgcEdit, although this step is not really necessary. If you rebuild the time map now, you should not see the warning any more.
- Fix the cell table if necessary (the cell command of the last tiny cell is probably missing.)
Please try disc 1 in keep mode with "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles" (needed because in keep mode it is not automatically turned on by VobBlanker). If it success, it indicates disc 1 is also OK.

Yep, you're doing more or less the same I supossed.
so, using your references, I'm interested in:
4: Load the new DVD in VB, and split the cell (of the original side 2) to recreate the missing chapters. You should select the position where the first frame of the new chapter is visible. Be sure to use the next and prev buttons to select the right split point, as the slider is not precise enough.
Take a snapshot of the Log (as you already did) just to see what happened.
If step 4 hangs, and just to confirm, please try again step 3, but be sure to have "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles" activated this time. It should hang when start to fix the big cell...
3: Now, load side 1 in VB, and replace the last tiny cell by the modified VOBs of side 2. Process everything (all menu ant titles domains), and output to a new folder, which will be your reauthored DVD.
Thanks
EDIT: Forgot to mention:
Yes, "keep mode" means keep everything. Just load and hit process. But, in any case, if disc 1 is OK or not, it does not matter, because the problem appears fixing a cell coming from disc2.
So you do not need to do the disc 1 testLast edited by jsoto; 7 Feb 2007, 09:43 AM.Comment

I just had a thought. . . . It doesn't explain the error that happened in step 3, but in the splitting process, I am not marking the end point of the movie as the last split. Perhaps I need to mark the end point? What do you think?
Should I go ahead and re-run step 3 per your instructions?Comment

If I understand correctly the new log, VB hangs at the joint point between side 1 and 2. So, I guess marking the end point will not help. Anyway, it's not needed, as doing so will create a new tiny chapter at the end of the film, with just one VOBU. You don't need that.Comment

Still at work, quick replay..
Log shows (unfortunately) the problem happens when trying to fix first Nav, so the problem is still hidden...(I'm not going to enter in the details, just believe me)
I'll take a look to the code this night, and may be I can compile a new beta build with more traces... Please do not delete the files from your PC.
If you can spend some time trying step 3, please do it. I'm pretty sure it will hang if you check "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles", but we can confirm the cell where it hangs. It should be the last one (the big one).

1. Original files from disc 1;
2. Original files from disc 2 minus the tiny cell at the end (it was deleted);
3. Previously joined files from disc 1 and disc 2 w/large cell at the end; and
4. Files from the attempted split last night.
I deleted all other files from prior failures and test runs, because I was running out of space. Hopefully, you don't need those, but if you do, just let me know and I'll re-process whatever you need.
Thanks for all your help.Comment

Hey!
I think I found the bug!
Please confirm if you have 9 VOB files...
from VTS_01_1.VOB
until VTS_01_9.VOB
In this case, there is an unitialized var...
I'll do some tests and I'll upload a new beta in a couple of hours.

So, I'm pretty sure we found it. Step 3 test also demostrates it, because it hangs in the very first cell and not in the first one of disc 2.
Wait one hour (may be a little more) and a new beta will be available.

OK, here it is beta6
Let me know if it works..
BTW, do not forget to turn off (delete the key or change the value to zero, before start VobBlanker) LogFixingPacks in the Registry. Otherwise you'll have a very long log, and it will waste some processing time...

[Edit] Do I check "Fix always SYNCI/SRI in Titles"?
[Edit] Since it's a new beta, I didn't need to make any changes to LogFixingPacks in the Registry. Correct?Last edited by rdkapp; 8 Feb 2007, 09:15 AM.Comment

Not needed. VobBlanker will automatically turn on this phase when splitting cells, because it is required (in VobBlanker 2.1.2 there was a bug, and it was not automatically activated.)
When VobBlanker starts, it reads the key, and if it not exist, a zero is loaded in the internal var, and finally it writes again the key value.
