All future quality (music, backup, movies,...) CD-Rs or DVD+-Rs for me will be purchased from there. I'll still use TDK Data CD-Rs for quick storage and transfer of stuff from one place or another though.

          include software(shrink, nero, dvdc,etc)

a very good test I have found to check the reliabilty of the process
is make a copy on the fly of your backup.

Well I have passed that point, my collection is partially loan/kid proof.
The last 40 or so disks I used common sense, cleaned the original backups,
if there were any scratches or tier 2/3 media, I used shrink to rip
to hard drive, ~10 disks, the other 30 were Copy on the Fly at 4x,
standalone masters optical drives. Success Rate ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!
Scratched/scuffed disks or bad media are now disposable. I would have saved myself a lot of trouble by trashing the originals and using better
media to burn the master backups and never using them. The way
people treat DVD's, they might as well use the biodegradable ones,
            that's all they deserve.

yes some people shouldn't be allowed to handle dvd's. glad you were successful. but my system isn't the same as yours, nor is my writer or media. i won't be trying OTF any time soon, but have fun

That's the easy part, building systems, if you can handle this stuff, you could
do that, now learning to fix broken systems is the real challenge.
