      Nero 7 an upgrade ????

I had Nero 6 running on my computer and all was fine......

Untill I put the so called 'UPG'RADE' onto it....

      Total mess....

No upgrading at all, leaving a corrupted Nero 6 and Nero 7 for which I have to find the first improvement over 6 still.....

And then displaying the idiot words DEMO everywhere, while I've PAID !!

So after deciding Nero 7 wasn't an 'upgrade' at all, I wrote a letter to VISA, stating this rip-of practises of Nero....

I have my money back, and even won't allow Nero 7 on my computer for free.

Really nothing new.... Yep BUGS, BUGS and more BUGS.......

      This is NOT an UPGRADE.....

It's a corrupted Nero 6 Reloaded, with some different colors here and there....

Sure I'm not gonna pay for that ....

Blue ray support ???????? That's nice, as even the official specs have to be released yet.....

Money back, and let VISA talk to Nero......

This is a clear rip of, trying to make money by making a so called UPGRADE..

      1) Remove Nero 6 manually, sure that's what the UPGRADE should do...
      2) Manually remove the word DEMO in different places, sure I do NOT.
      3) Using HELP that's NOT integrated but has to be downloaded as PDF or some unusefull format, NOT integrated...... as Nero 6 had.....
      4) Using the built in UPDATE service gives the message 'UNKNOWN ERROR'........
      5) Functionality improvements ???? I still have to find the first one....

This is just 'same wine'in a different bottle.....

Not gonna pay 1 penny for that sh..

And then there was Blue Ray........ Nothing to backup anymore......

          I had 7.0.1.4

Yep that the 'upgrade' I had..........

          Really messy.......

Even still NO NETWORK SUPPORT !!!

Can you believe that in 2005 ??????

Even my PLEXTOR PX-716A is NOT varirec enabled............
But my PX-712A is, but was also in Nero 6, and Nero 6 didn't support the PX-716A either....

Do I have to say more ??????

Nope, Nero AG wants to make money the quick way.....

That's not done with the average computer user nowdays.....

So I'm back to Nero 6, because all the stuff around BURNING ROM I don't use so often and even there is nothing really new to find....

So just wait for NERO 8.............

Maybe my PLETOR PX-716A is supported then....
And then there was Blue Ray........ Nothing to backup anymore......

well they got it together by 6.6.xxxx
            before that 5.5.xxxxxxxxxx

see the pattern, all earlier versions are betas that you pay for

like I said I am waiting for 7.7.xxxx

am i missing something, or why is is there are no update menu at nero.com like there is for ver 6 major update?

i did see a note about the trial/demo button, but does this mean updating nero 7 is done within nero's interface?

EDIT:this would be the correct one i guess?

                Ermmm!!!

                Excuse me a little....

I have the latest Nero 6.6.0.18 and Not one but two Plextor 716A....

I have no problem with enabling varirec with Nero 6.... Ok I havent tried Nero 7 but here you have a little taste...

How are you trying to use The VariRec on the 716A? I may be wrong but you can only use that if your doing a CD copy of the whole disk.... It wont work with DVD's (not meant to (I know you know but just a reminder))...

I see no reason why Nero would remove the support for Plextor(s) Increasingly standard feature on theire drives with a release of a software that is suppose (for the best part) to be superior (I pee on my pants ) to it's predecessor?

Maybe it's buggier than ever but I stand with Chewy on his statement....

my full size dvd blanks hold 4.38GB(nero info tool), nero shows
                    compilation full about 4460MB? Unfortunately 1000MB isn't 1 GB.
Bunch of binary semantics, you might get away with overspeeding a burn,
but not overburning a disk. Burn to 4450 and see what's left. sliver

overspeed is going faster, overburn is going larger, something you don't want to do. Bad idea. It's so easy to chop some of the credits off.

Yep, well I already asked for a refund, they refued. So now I have done it by talking to my vredit card company, and Nero is going to sue me.....

Just laughing here........ No way that a judge would see Nero 7 as an 'upgrade'.

And YES EVEN WITH DVD'S VARIC IS STANDARD FEATURE WITH BOTH PX-712A and PX-716A, only the write speeds drops to 4* writing.

Yep that fuction VARIREC is also for DVD !!!

But the stupid Nero 6 and Nero 7 both DON'T SUPPORT THAT FOR THE PX-716A !!! That's the problem !

When using PLEXTOOLS you can see it's supported for DVD !!!

I'm not as stupid as it seems......
And then there was Blue Ray........ Nothing to backup anymore......
