    Plus Media

I have a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S burner. Every plus disk I burn has freezes furing playback. I have burned at various speeds and used Sony, MIJ, and Verbatim plus disk. The burner is suppose to burn plus disk. I have done booktyping to DVD-ROM and just DVD+. I have burned with DVDD and Clone DVD with Any DVD. Any suggestions?

As suggested by the LT, first of all update your firmware.

To see what happen during a burn you can use cd-dvd speed, that show you graphically what happen during the burn itself.

Moreover, with cd-dvd speed you can do quality scan tests (scan discs @4x) to see how your discs are burned.

If you can do a scan, please post here, so we can see how is burning quality.

I downloaded a utility from LiteOn to set booktyping. I have used CloneDVD and Neroto burn and both played with no freezing. My firmware is up to date. I will try buring with DVDD this afternoon and see if it now playes okay. I have attached a DVD/CD Test of the burned disk that has freezing during playback that was done before downloading the booktyping utility from LiteOn.

            That scan is really bad!

Are you sure that is a genuine taiyo? There are many fakes too bad

Could you post a nero log? TYs are generally super media. I wonder if geno888 is right?

Here is a link to post the nero log: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=57213

Here is a link to download dvd identifier: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

              Please post both. Thanx

I am attaching a .png file after the booktyping update burned with DVDD. I have not watched all the movie, but there is one small freeze a little less that an hour into the movie.

You are a little low on available memory. I WOULD upgrade to 6.6.0.18. Stay away from 6.6.1.4 because of the memory. When burning, I turn off all unnecessary programs and disconnect from the internet. I do not touch the keyboard or even the mouse.

Here are some good threads on your situation:

Download process explorer from my signature and see what else is running to free up some more memory and then try to burn again. Good luck!

It is an improvement BUT there is room for more improvement. The scan you posted was dated for yesterday. Try burning today after the improvements

                        Date

The burn was done today. The date may be from the date the file was created. I just downloaded ImgBurn tonight.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
