gonwk,
By the way I have always used DVD-R ... just today got some Taiyo DVD+R 8X and 16X from RIMA and they WILL NOT Scan in NERO Scan program (4.51.1) ... I don't understand this ... Also, I ma not sure if Taiyo DVD+Rs are necessarily any better than DVD-RsComment

just for one test! I want to eliminate imgburn and bitsetting from the equation till we find out why your benq won't work with some of the best media? It's all about eliminating variables. How else can we narrow it down?
Save the graph and attach it.Comment

Just gave a test scan on my Nec. I burned the disk on LG-5163D set at 8x. However it only went up to 6x. Strange?! I scanned the disk on a Nec-6100A. Used TY02CJ

codajohn,
if you use the create disk function of cdspeed to burn an iso with the
LG it will save a graph, then use the nec to try and do a disk quality if your nec supports it?
otherwise the transfer test looks PERFECT!
of course we already know lg drives burn yuden T02 very wellComment

Chewy,
The LG is not read by cdspeed. It doesn't show up in the dive select drop down window. Via Firewire. Should I try usb2?
Edit: Just tried usb2. No read.Last edited by codajohn; 20 May 2006, 08:40 AM.CJ

I use the LG with the xp lap. The LG external only runs on xp. http://www.burnworld.com/dvd-burner/lg%20gsa-5163d.htm
Something else interesting, with a firewire connection, it is listed by burner name and by usb2 it is listed as a "Mass Storage Device." No name.
It did come with LG DVD Writer solution cd. CD contains Power CD, Power Producer Gold, Nero Express, InCd and Acrobat Reader. Would the Nero aspi be found in/on this software disk?
Edit: I did search my computer for the aspi driver wnaspi32.dll and found it In c:window/system32. However, Nero mentions installing it not as a system file but in the applications
folder. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/WNASPI32.DLL.html
There is also Adaptec aspi http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/sup...aspi_471a2.exe
Should I download and install from site?Last edited by codajohn; 20 May 2006, 08:19 PM.CJ
