Since yesterday I have done some 12X and some 8X and so far I get the 12X
So for now I am sticking with the 12X
I did order some of the premium TY from supermedia store and if those are 8X I guess I wont be burning those with 12X but for now its workig for me.

I get good 12X burns on 8X media all the time, CMC-E01 and MCC-003, And good 16X on the MCC-004. It all depends on the burner/firmware/media comboNot registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

Well considering I cant find an other BenQ 1650 for sale anywhere. I dont want to push the limits too much. Dont know what burner I would have to go with if this one blows out .Comment

I think that the majority of burners are doing good at burning 12X and above with stock/tweaked firmware. And with the cost of burners today below $40, backing up a few DVDs pays for it, quickly. Not registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

I sold an old computer to a friend a few years ago, she wanted me to
put a cheapo 48x cd burner in it that she got for 5$ after rebate, I did.
told her to only burn at 16x, I tested it, it worked fine, then she ignored my advise and complained about the 48x burns, the ps dies a few weeks later.
after replacing the power supply I learned my lesson and just strip the old computers for parts if anyComment

Bidding was closed.I decided to take another chunk out of my wallet and get it from the Dell site. The only one they had for it was the 305-Watt PFC Power Supply. So I am hoping that will do the trickComment
