am getting worried, my scores are dropping.

I started burnig at 8X with great results then after getting 2 coasters I went back to 4X and my scores are still dropping. Is this a sign that my burner may be going out? I am wondering if this batch of dvd's are not as good as the rest have been.

    I gave 6 a shot:

Is te 16X media lower quality then th 8X?

that GROB is insance for burning 16x rate at 4x, when burner die you dont even see the sight of it, did you try to clean your burner with clean disc...? no multitask? shut most every thing down? try diff spindle? was it one burn after another? did you leave enough time for burner cool down?...

      Night

PS I dont know about others bur Verb and TY 16x < 8x quality control forsure

most of it is, that's why I have been steering people away from the value line
        towards the premium guaranteed tyg02's.

try a firmware flash, a lot of newer drives have trouble with the tyg03's

try burning at 12 x after the flash

first couple may be bad but the rest should get better

So it is the media then.

How do I know what TY are TYG02's are they the 8X in the cake boxes?

Also what firmware would you recomened for this burner.

A while ago I was told I had the best firmware for this burner, I now things change though.

          Thank you.

It seems like I am fighting to get a great burn here. I was buring one right after the other with no more then 4 burns but now I am doing one at a time letting her cool down then burn again.

I have noticed the discs are heating... they hadnt before. With the TGY02

          Thank you

clean your lazer once a while with clean disc? leave 15-20 minutes between burn?
my combination: ripit with 1st drive all the way to iso then burn with 2 nd drive, then start again with 1st drive you will be save that way

PS you house is too much heat since the heater is on , try open side door if it is help

try BCIC, I have had good luck with it

leave the tray open for a minute before closing it with another disk to burn, burn faster and it doesn't have as much time to heat up?

when burning faster leave more time between burns

I had the same problem using the firmware you were using. So I agree with using the BCIC firmware it seemed to fix my issues

                      @Chewy,
With flashing this firmware is it anything different I should know before I do it.

do it from safe mode, drive empty

most goombas flash then do 1 or 2 burns and scan then get mad at the new firmware and go back

                        just leaves the drive confused

So basically your saying to give it a few burns and scans before expecting the best?

                              PA,
I have 1650 BCIC. Stayed with it since it's posting. NTM, second machine.
I have had and still have great results.

upgraded firmware ad did a burn at 12X as sugested:

                                It failed:

                                EDIT:

After very closely looking at the disc there seems to be a flaw with that disc there is a small spot almost like a scratch but not from the outside its bowed up like from the inside out. And that is where the burning stopped. Must have just been a bad disc I will try again.
