      Tempted.

As tempting as those ideas are, I am going to follow your sig Chewy, while basking in the glow of a couple of good burns finally. The following, burnt with Plextor PX-716A, 1.11 (USB).

Burnt @4X, scanned with LH-20A1S @8X: Click image for larger version

I think I may of had a loose connection but I am not 100% sure.At times when I fire up my computer I get a warning that the drive can't be found(My other drives don't do this) so it's hard telling what the problem was

I actually had a ide cable that was bad, but never got any drive not found errors, but did get BSOD. So I tried to format the drive. It only formatted maybe 1/4 of the drive before it erred and then the drive could not be found. Changed the cable finished the formating and reloaded the hard drive, which in hind site I did not have to do.

Sony Dvd+R 50 pack spindle, YUDEN000T02, Test Smartburn enabled only, Used LH-20A1S (9L05 FB EOS) to burn the first two @8X & the third one at 6X from three different spindles with ImgBurn. Scanned all three with the LH-20A1S @8X.

@soup, I just noticed the two Lite-ons I just bought are the same model as yours. Have not installed them yet. I was wondering if you happened to of burned any TY-Rs yet. If you have, have you come up with the best write speed and settings? Thanks

I have burned a few Sony Dvd-R 16X, Made in Japan, 50 pack spindle TYG03's @ 12X, 8X & these are 2 examples. I don't think it likes them. Currently using LH20A1S with 9L05 FB EOS firmware with SmartBurn 3.16t enabled only.

I wonder if that's related to the lead in problem with dvd-r's, does the samsung hose the first of the burn also?

the lg should do a better job

                                It just doesn't like them.

@ Chewy, I will get back to you about the Samsung & the LG with these discs. LiteON lead in time for me is always around 46 seconds. I have read about LiteON lead in problems on another Forum, you think they would pay attention because it is not a new problem. The same discs burned with the LH20A1S, 9L05 FB EOS, SmartBurn 3.16t enabled only. First one @6X, second one @16X.
