I find my 3550 scans nice at 12x, but the difference between 12x and 8x is minor, never seen such a wide range in results.

So, conclusions: the Maxells are OK, but the NEC has a problem scanning at 8x, right?

If your getting your discs from Sam's the verbatims are the same price per disc your just getting 100 at a time instead of 75. Those are known to be good discs.

Not usually. I just snagged one spindle because I was out of white hubs & I noticed that these had the MIJ sticker. Normally, I buy from Genesys, Meritline, or SMS.
