you click at 2x but you actually burn at 6x

      look on this

      I 23:51:30 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: SONY16D1) (Speeds: 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x) the lowest is 6x

your nero must hose alot of your memory, I think imgburn is way to go

I think you're right. I've made two copies so far, and both worked without error. Hopefully it wasn't two flukes... Did you see in the log file where it said, "I 00:01:40 Average Write Rate: 7,650 KB/s (5.5x) - Maximum Write Rate: 8,428 KB/s (6.1x)"

It states that the Averate write speed is (5.5x).. Do you think this is why it won't write any faster than 4x? If so, doesn't that mean it's either my burner, my cables, harddrive, or memory is slowing this down?

Let me know if there is anything you can think of to figure this out. Thanks so much.

It starting to seem that your computer and nero are pretty hosed,
and the drive may be OK.

don't bother with nero till you uninstall and then run the clean tool(s)

make sure you have a serial number

Thanks for all your help Chewy. There isn't anything in that sticky that I haven't already done. I have known that I need to clean up Windows, I just haven't had the time. I'm not impressed with NERO and will probably just keep using IMGBurn to write the DVDs since it seems to be working now. Thanks for all your help you have saved me from a lot of stress!!!
