    @Soup,

    The ones I am talking about are 16X and DVD+R. I have seen the DVD-R ones there in the 50 spindle made in Japan also. The 100 spindle is always Taiwan. I will look for the octagon ontop next time I am in there.

      Zellers eh? Now you have me thinking Art. All the Wal Mart stores around here are long clear of MIJ, but I would love to stumble onto some at another store.

        It would be interesting to find out the MID of these MIJ's & I think I am going to pay Zellers a visit today as well. I might not be able to get any work done.

          Ive been finding those MIJ's at sears....I bought them out (6 spindles) a few weekends ago....used staples add to price match and got them for $14.98 for each spindle. I'm waiting for another sony add to go get more, they restocked the shelf with 8 more spindles of MIJ's....the wal-marts around here havent had any for months.....Nightran turned me onto the sears gig

                Just picked up 2 50pk spindles of Verb's from Staples. I couldn't resist and can always use a few extra hundred.

                  I just went to the local Wal-Mart and found about 50 spindles (of 50) of Sony TYs! (eh FuriousG??)

                  A bit pricy at $24 but it would do in a pinch!

                  The bigger question is: "Has Sony gone back to TY??" These looked brand new and were stocked behind the others. They were not dust covered. They had the octagonal spacer on top!

                    That's pretty well the same price I pay Gary D but of course no PST. I think I have seen them on sale once @ $17.99.

                      they are stored in boxes and could be 2 years old? You might even see some made in japan 16x sony's that are a sony mid, not a ty.

                          Chewy,
                          I was just about to mention that sale with Canada Computers. I think that $26.99 for a 100 pack of Taiyo Yuden has got to be a steal of a deal!

                              Don't forget: cost = $26.99 + GST & in some cases + PST + shipping but I still think it will work out to be around .37 cents a disc which is less than I pay for the Sony's.

                                I purchased my first burner online from those guys, but never bought any media. For about .37c a disk I may have to give them a try.

                                @ Gary D, sweet find you lucky bugger. I never see any of the good stuff at Wally World anymore.
