These are the ones I would go for because they are the ones Ritek is known for. The first ones you looked at are the generation B4 G-04 (I thouhgt they didnt exist anymore). Wrong I am!!

If you wanna try some different disks out and decide for yourself B4 you go all out and get a silly amount I recommend a trial pack:

hmm just when I thought I made my decision
the toshiba burner they list is'ny my model but I sent a email to toshiba asking what they recommend and they said tdk,fuji,ritek,verbatim....what do you think since my model isnt listed?

I would wait for the e-mail back from toshiba, just to be safe.

If the burner family is listed (i.e. earlier model) then I would say that it is compatible.

If your particular model is not compatible, you may find a firmware update at toshibas website that may add compatibility with more brands, speeds etc... (Use only official firmware)

I dont mean to confuse you in any way. That's why I suggested the trial pack, if you wanna try it, it's not a lot of cash and it will set any doubs aside straight up!

Logic says to me that since Ritek G-04 are so widely used that the chances are your Burner will be compatible anyway.

What's your model drive?

i actually got the email last week, the brands i listed are what they said should work, now with that said ive been using tdk and having probs go figure, the model is a sd-r 5272

I looked for a firmware update for your drive @ Toshiba's homepage and there isnt one... Using un-official firmware eg. (Hacked) will void your warranty so i would not use anything but official...

They did say didnt they.

Well savage03 the best thing it seems is the Ritek G-04 -R x4 media.

You can do the trial pack or go straight to the 25 packs 50 packs etc.

If it helps to make your mind up scrap the rest and try Ritek.

just for curiosity i sent a email to customer service at that site with the orange riteks, i asked if they were the g04 you were talking about or something else. if they arent the g04 then i will jsut go with the ones you listed

The Cake with 50 costs $27.50 rated at x1 and x4

The ones I chose cost $27.00 for the same 50 all rated at x4

The choice is yours at the end.

Well since I use the inkjet printable DVD's (remember?) No.

But since you dont mind whatever surface they have, The ones I indicated after would be my second best choice.

The same disks except I can print them on my Epson R300.

The ones you want are really your first choice, no?

yea i do like the first ones just cause i dont have your printer (but its on my list things i want now) and i dont care for silver top, but i thought you saw something that made them suspicious. those just got my curiosity going so ive been gung ho find out what i can on em lol.

The only thing I saw on them (rather didnt see) is that they dont say they are G-04.

If customer service told you they are and it turns out they are not you have the 75 days to get them returned. (I dont like the idea of waiting and then retuning somethig waiting again and then finaly getting what you wanted in the first place)

People will say everything to make the sale. Sometimes they dont know and just make it up.

I am suspicious however that if they are G-04 why dont they have it advertised as such?

Interesting....here is something interesting a friend of mine bought this same burner at the same time and hes having the same issues, he has some prodisk and ritek cds and they still freeze and stuff, hes going to bring me some tomorrow and i will try em, im not sure which riteks he got but they are the 8x ones and g-05 if that helps. ive noticed the ones you use have a dark purple color to them and so do the ones with orange on them, does mean anything? the tdk's i have are a silverish/purple color.
