New Forum Software

I have finally upgraded the new forum software from 2.x to 3.0.7. Because of the customized themes, modifications to the forum scripts and the size of the forum, this upgrade took several hours and it's likely there will be small bugs.

There are many new features from the new version, and most of the existing features from the old version (including most of the third party modifications I've added) should still be present.

If you encounter any problems, please post the problems in this thread.

I like the new look. It looks better at 800x600 than the old version and where the FAQ link is now nobody will miss it. Ya can even see more of the ad now

whats gonna happen with the reputation system? is it going to be used?

No problems but the "Go to top of page" link is AWOL. It's funny what you get used to.

What are the reputation points for? I did a search of the FAQ and couldn't get anything.



Edit - I don't know if it's a bug or a change but when a mod is on their name on the forum home page in the user's online section is not in bold anymore.

That should be easy to add in again (there is a "Top" link on the bottom of the page), but I can't remember what it used to look like, so please remind me and I'll see what I can do.

They've changed the way usernames are displayed (now allows custom HTML code to be added before/after username for different usergroups). I've made admin/mods usernames bold again.

Actually (and moderators can testify to this fact), there were plans to upgrade to the new version all the way back in March, but nothing came about until I was reminded again just a few days ago.

The user titles and thread preview (where you hold your mouse over thread titles, and you can see a preview of the first post in the thread - currently only works for threads posted since the upgrade) will be updated in time (running the update scripts as I type).
