Seriously if this is something is only affecting me I am happy to live with it and use my mouse scroll button to return to the top of the page....

I use the "Home" button on my keyboard to jump to the top.

lfcrule1972: I think the problem you're having is somehow related to the javascript code that the forum uses to jump to pages. Perhaps a setting within IE makes this happen, but there is really nothing that I can do to fix it (other than by removing the javascript code, which means it won't make the first jump to the post at all). Or you could try Firefox

I'm using XP Pro SP2 - IE6 and the TOP button works for me. Also the home button works and is easier to get to.

Search Question

I meant to ask this with the old version of the forum software also.

Sometimes when I log off prematurely or get logged off due to idle time when I log back in my last visit time is too current. Is there a wild card search that will show me all posts/responses from all users from a certain period (yesterday or a week ago) forward?

I tried a bunch of wildcards and can't do it. I looked in the FAQ and am still lost.

You can only search based on last visited time or x number of days ago. Of course, you could then sort the search results by time, and then pick the ones that you need. The wildcards are mainly for searching the text, I don't think there is a time based wildcard.

I realize there is not a time based wildcard. There is no date search function yet in VB, just the timeframes in the drop down box. For example what type of text search would I do to find all posts dated yesterday with yesterday selected in the drop down box and my last visited time is yesterday 09:53PM. I was trying to do a wildcad text search to get everything from yesterday. Is ? a valid search operand in VB.

Replace "X" with the number of days to look back. There is nothing more precise than that, but you can sort through the results yourself.

Thanks admin - its not a major issue for me anyway. Besides the problem could be down to the crappy PC I use at work as well.

@admin - I am using the Windows XP style (for my sins). The Rules button at the top open the basic search box (like the search button next door to it does).

A question/suggestion - if you are not logged in to the forums - you have an option in that screen to see 'todays posts'. Is it to tricky to have the same feature if you are logged in?

What I have been thinking about is turning the "New Posts" link into a drop down menu style thing, that has "New Posts", "Today's Post", "Posts From 1/2/3 Days Ago", etc... The only problem with this is that there is an extra mouse click to just get the new posts.
