I know I have asked this before, but just wondering, OTHER than TINRA, is there some free program that will convert an RM file to AVI or some other editable format? RM Converter is great, but I can't really buy it without a credit card.
avi container? What is that? I just want to convert RM to an "editable" file, which is anything that can be opened in VirtualDub(Mod) or Ulead Video Studio... including AVI, MPG, WMV.
TINRA only works with a very limited number of RM files - most just make a 0kb AVI that obviously doesn't play. This is using the TINRA GUI. Do I need a certain Real Player to make it work (G2 or something)? I have the newest one, I think. 10 or 11.
mencoder. It's free and can convert rm/rmvb files including cook audio and RV9EHQ (aka RV10). Just requires some dll's from real for some formats. libavcodec now has cook audio decoding though, so I guess you don't need a dll for that anymore.
There are other apps, most rely on Gabest's real media directshow filters.
You can get the dll's from the official site. As for which of the 20, I don't know. Assuming that you ended up on my site though then you would grab the newest compile for your CPU. So if you had a P4, that would be mplayer2005.11.23.P4.7z
About time I put some new compiles up I think. If you ended up somewhere else then I have no idea what to suggest.
This program looks nice, I installed it but still gotta get those required DLL's (the site is down now). I is a GUI for Mencoder.
Yeah, the one from your website works fine, but I am not good with command line prompts - all I know how to do is drag a file onto Mplayer and it plays.
alright, I got the codecs, and can play RM files with mplayer just fine. However, that t@b program won't convert them, still just plays them. How do I use the command line thingy? I just know that dragging-and-dropping files on mencoder won't do it.
