I AM TRYING TO MAKE A BACKUP OF A MOVIE AND I CONVERT IT TO VCD NO PROBLEM AND BURN IT TO A CD-R NO PROBLEM THEN I GO TO PLAY IT IN MY DVD PLAYER AND I RECEIVE THE MESSAGE "THE PLAYBACK FEATURE IS NOT ENABLED ON THIS DISK..." MY DVD PLAYER IS A VCR COMBO SANYO DVD PLAYER AND VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER DVW-7200

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ENABLE THE PLAYBACK FEATURE??

It Is New I Am Unsure If It Does But I Know That It Does Play Cd-r And Cd-rw, I Also Have A Magnavox Mwd200f That It Does Not Play In As Well. I Get The Same Error "playback Feature Not Available On This Disc"

hmm, a lot of variables here

- not every player plays vcd - most do though
- how was the conversion done
- how did you burn the converted file

I Used Cucusoft To Convert And Nero To Burn.. It All Went Without A Glitch..

does the vcd play on your pc and more importantly on any other dvd player?

It Plays On The Computer But Not On Any Of My Dvd Players And I Have A Few....

Oh I know what that might be.
Some DVD player have blayback, with this feature you may need to either enable PBC or dissable it to get a VCD to play.

With my toshiba I have to disable PBC to be able to play a VCD.
That is something you will have to do with your DVD player remote and go into the settings of your dvd player.

It sounds like you will have to Disable the PBC "Play Back Control" since there is nothing burned on the VCD to make that feature work.


All players are a bit different go into menu and keep going through them untill you see PBC then click to turn OFF.

With My dvd player using my DVD remote with the tv set to dvd like your going to watch it,
I clcik the setup button,
go to - operation
- PBC on/off then turn off and exit the set up.

Your player may be different. Look in your owner manual for PBC

Ok i have taken caps off i am really bad at leaving them on..
The other thread was not a duplicate thread..
this thread was about a home dvd player not playing my vcd's
and the other was about my dvd burner not being reconized as a dvd burner drive, but it is reconized as a disk drive and i need to know what was wrong how come it was not showing up the right way in my computer.

well i looked through out the dvd player and nothing called PBC??

you will have to go to setup first , where is your manual it will explaine it there as stated before every player is a bit different.

In set up you should have everything from picture to audio and other features your player has PBC will most likely be under operations.


in your owners manual look for Play Back Controls =PBC
