Some games are on cd's while some others are on dvd's the childrens games like you have most of those are cd. Like I have said earlier I have never really seen any fancy incryption on games like that but then again my son is now almost 11 and in the 5th grade so we are not using those kind of games any longer. It is possible that they may be putting some more fancy incryptions on those kinds of games now. With out having the game it is hard to say.

It is stating
analyzing disc
the cd is copyrighted
creating the image for burning....
I cancelled to check with you first st that I dont waste a dvd if there is some setting I have to change first or if it will turn out like the last one ...all files and info were copied and the install works then when you try to play it states that you need to insert disk.Comment

Just read your last post.
Hummm so I guess that I might be out of luck then...Or I need to search out a prog that removes the protection and then copies (Like the dvd shrink)Comment

Interesting we can burn/backup dvd's. But trying to "backup" a cd rom game from like 2001 or earlier seems to be more difficult.Comment

The only game we have that I coundt back up was casino empire.
The game copied but didnt work.
So I ened up buying another one so we have 2 discs, they were only like $5.00 on clearance so it wasnt a big deal.
Most of our pc games are older as my son is more into play station games now. he still plays his computer games but a lot of them were from a year or 2 or 3 or4 ago and didnt have much for copyright protection issues.
You may also want to try coping that game on cd as data disc and see if that works. You may still have to use the original to install but may work just for playing the game.
If there is some fancy hard to crack copyright stuff on that disc, I am at a loss. I never looked that far into it as the only one I have like that was cheap to just buy a second one.Comment

from 2001 and earlier shouldnt be a problem. But then again I dont have the ame game you do so its hard to say. It is possible you could have just had a bad burn too maybe try one more time to a cd. Blank cd's are cheap enough.Comment

OK I tried the DVD and it told me that I needed a cd-r
and I did the COPY dvd (your suggestion) rather than the first attempt that i did using the other option.
And Thank you!!!!!It worked! I now will have much more harmony between my 2 girls!
Thanks so much for all your time and step by step help!
That screen shot was also really neat!
How funny it is when one thinks that they are getting all the pc stuff down pat and then I get something as stumping as this LOL!
Thanks again!!!!!Comment
