    TV Downstairs

    Hi guys.

This is probably a really stupid problem but I'll ask for your help anyway.
I have my PC upstairs with a DVD drive in it. I've bought all the cables to connect my PC to my TV downstairs so that I can watch DVDs on it. The problem I'm having is that when I switch to TV as my display device, my monitors goes off. I have to run downstairs to see what is on my TV and then run back upstairs to my PC. I'm using a TNT2 with tv-out card which only gives me 15 seconds to confirm my choice of display device before reverting back to the previous one. As I can't see my TV, I don't know where my mouse pointer is to confirm selection.
As I'm not as young as I used to be, this is causing me all sorts of problems.
Is there any way of displaying on two devices at once without using a second video card?
I'm using the latest NVidia drivers.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm not too sure about this, but shouldn't you have the choice of 'Cloning' your display (so that what you see on the monitor is also displayed on the TV)? I know the recent nVidia drivers have this feature.

Let me have a look at my nVidia-powered system and see if I can make a rough guidance...

the confirming part is easy: just press ALT+Y or ALT+N (or the underlined letter in the button). Escape and Enter work too... but I think they both cancel the change.

Try using TVTools (www.tvtools.de, i think) It should be able to use the two monitors, IF your PC monitor supports that low resolution (720*576 @25Hz interlaced (50Hz))

Yeah, like Nielchiano said. You should definitly give TVTool a try. You can download a free trial version and if it works with your TV-Out card and your monitor you should pay the view dollars or euros for the update supported full version. It's realy worth it.
