    Capturing Images

    OK Hi I know I'll probably get flamed for posting this here, but here goes anyway:

    What is a good freeware program to use to capture still images from video clips? The only way I can figure out how to do it now is by "Save Image Sequence" in virtualdub, but it's a pretty irritating and inefficient way to do it ... and all the guides/faq's are for DivX but not image capture ...

    Most TV-capture-cards have that function in their TV-software. If your card. If you have a card with the BT848/878-chip you may use the WinTV-software. On there website they also have a image-capture-program. With other chips just look on the manufacturers website.
    don't trust in guides

        While the video is running, press and hold the ALT key and press the PrintScreen key. This should copy the image to your clipboard. then simply run a graphics or paint program and "Paste" the image. Then save the image in whatever format you prefer.

        Also, if you happen to have WinDVD, simply press the letter "P" and it will save your image as a .BMP file to a subdirectory in your WinDVD directory. The subdirectory will be named either "Capture" or "Graphics".

        Let us know of your success;>}
