SVCD Great on PC On Standalone DVD Black and White!!! Why????

Hello Everyone,

I had received a movie in mpeg 2 format!!! I burned it with Nero to a svcd.
When i played on my pc its perfect but when i tryed it on
a stand alone dvd player it is black and white!!!! Why??? i really don't get it!!

Can anyone explain it to me????
And maybe give me an answer to do it right?????

could that be an ntsc material?
maybe player/tv do not properly handle ntsc!?
