Borders around video

I have ripped my first DVD to DIVx w/ some sucess but seem to have black borders all the way around the actual video. Full screen mood does the same thing. I have also tryed 3 differant players with the same results. I used Gordian Knot to accomplish rip. HELP

Perhaps the movie was not properly cropped in GordianKnot? Load the AVS file that GK generated in Virtualdub and scroll around. Check whether the same black borders are present.

OK! Tried what you suggested and the black borders were only present on the sides. Also when video is played borders on sides are not same dimension as those on top & bottom.

use autocrop in gk, afterwards slide thorugh the film and check if any borders are gone or not.

if not, click PIXEL and crop manually

no few movies are mastered improperly; i.e. you have no orders in some parts of the film using certain cropping values but there still are borders at different places in your material.

Why not use flaskmpeg to convert your movie.
It has something called the output pad where you see a frame from your movie and you can adjust the margins with the mouse to crop the borders on all sides. What you see is what you get.

Cropping & resizing in Flask does not compare to that in GordianKnot...

I find cropping in FLASK rather hard to do.....
