You may burn the mpeg file with Video CD or Super Video CD wizard at nero. After that it will convert your mpeg files into AVSEQ00x.dat (VCD standard file) or it become still MPG file if you used SVCD option. If this happen so you have the correct step. You can playback VCD with your media player using open file and select your DAT files. Meanwhile if you burn into SVCD format, you can playback with MPEG2 compatible player which usually used to playback DVD movies (Like PowerDVD, or WinDVD). Cause MPEG2 was a standard compression for SVCD and DVD format.

Warning some VCD player don't have capability to play SVCD format. But most of DVD player can play SVCD format.
